Spidertrax vs. Allpro spacers....

What is the major difference. I know spidertrax are know for being great, but I mean forged aluminum is forged aluminum. And they both are hub centric with grade 8 hardware.
The allpros are however half the price.

There was a member not long ago that bought the all pro. Turned out the spacer broke while driving. Fortunately for him he wasn't going highway speeds.

 

I have spidertrax on mine, I've beat the hell out of them and havent had any issues.

 

I vote Spidertrax... And I'm sure most everybody else would also...

 

I had the Allpro ones. They were plenty beefie, but I couldn't get them properly mounted without a shimmie at 60mph or more. I think it was just me though, not the spacers fault.

 

Spidertrax are definately proven, but what is difference between the spidertrax and the allpros. I mean what can break with a spacer, only the studs right? Well the stud should all be the same since they are all grade 8.

 

Well if they shimmied with the spacers, but no shimmy without then that is definately shitty.

 

Some one PMd me this information below. I tend to agree with his findings, but would certainly like a reply from someone in the know instead of someone speculating.

thought I would share some of my information with you.

you are so adamant that the All Pro Spacers are shit and you base all of your "information" off of one incident. I have been considering running spacers on my truck in the future so I have been doing a decent amount of research, this is what i have found out:

the incident that you base all of your information involved a larger spacer (2" IIRC) and a lot of user error. the guy installed lug centric spacers with hub centric wheels and then forgot to torque them, it is also the only publicly documented failure of the all pro spacers i could find. however the problem is not exclusive to All Pro Spacers, If you would search TW you would find this thread:

the facts

the difference between the All Pro 1.25" hub centric spacer and the late model toyota Spidertrax is the classification of the studs. all pro uses a standard Grade 8 pressed into the spacer, the spidertrax use a M12 metric bolt also pre installed (pressed i would assume)

The Grade 8 bolt has a min tensile strength of 150,000 PSI which is more than enough for a 4200 lb vehicle. The M12 is around the 175,000 PSI range based off of conversion charts and calculations.

Both use a solid machined piece of Billet 6061-T6 aluminum as the base.

Just a little additional information so you can post more accurate information as opposed to gossip

actually if you read one of the links above that I posted you will see a post where the spidertrax have failed, again probably due to installation error though.

 

I felt comfortable enough to buy my Spidertrax used. I'm the third owner of mine, and the two previous owners wheeled them pretty hard. Reputation is all you have to go on when things are made identically.

O.k. I was looking at the pics of the blue tacoma on the bottom. It says running 285/70/17 plus Spidertrax spacers. Now, I am running 1.25" spacers plus I just went to 285's and my tires are NOT even close to being that wide. What is the difference? I am using the factory wheels though. Help!! Pics to follow as soon as this damn computer cooperates.

 

That factory stud are 12Mx1.5 so they are identical to the ones spidertrax uses. I would like to buy some of the ASAP, where can i get the best price on Spidertrax and who has them in stock?

 

I searched for them a couple weeks ago and nobody had them in SoCal. So I called them directly (spidertrax that is) they are based in Colorado. The guy that picked up was very nice. He said that I could buy them directly from him and that he's ship them to my house. He said that he would do them for what ever price is listed on their website plus shipping.

I would have done it except I needed them the next day, I ended up finding a guy that could build them for me the next day. I drove out to his shop and picked them up the next day. I ended up paying more for them than the Spidertrax cost...damn I am inpatient mofo...

Damn They are working on about a 10000% markup and they won't pay shipping, ouch.
