Alright I'm game, lets talk economics and political science.

As you can see by the chart, the increase in spending on the food stamp program coincides with the recession, as the economy tanked the amount of people who qualified for this program increased (this is based on mandatory spending or entitlements, which means who ever qualifies for it gets it, different from "discretionary spending" which is approved through congressional appropriations process).

So you have to look at what caused the economy to tank, which required "poor people" to need more assistance. That would be the big banks, wall street, deregulation of large financial institutions that caused the sub prime mortgage crisis, oh and don't forget my favorite "corporate welfare" and the "trickle down economic plan". To say poor people are sucking us dry is incorrect, because you are not looking at the cause of the increase in entitlements, you are just looking at the effect of a bad economy. Basically blaming the people who suffered from the recession for the economy today.

Ummm I'm not an economist or anything, but I do run a $280MM business, and isn't debt weighed against total assets, not revenue? Could be wrong here.....

Well as most of you know I put my truck in a ditch about 8months ago and broke the lower control arm on the passenger side. Got it all fixed up, but I'm still battling a steering issue. The steering wheel was off center a bit causing my vsc to disable so I loosened the steering collum ujoint just inside the cab and re centered the wheel that way. It was close to center but not perfect and lately it has a mind of its own and some times it's off centered to the left sometimes to the right.

Here in lies the question. Did I bust a tooth off on the rack and pinion? Which would explain the drifting of steering wheel center, or? Sometimes it as simple as hitting a bump/whoop on the highway and the steering wheel will be offset to the opposite side it was previously.

 

When dealing with a nation's debt you generally put it up against the GDP in order for the nation's wealth to have a bit of a scaling effect. With companies though, yeah, you'll measure solvency through comparison of debt to assets.

HOWEVER

When you're trying to paint a picture of a suffering nation that is going to crumble under the might of the Illuminati and Kim Kardashian's ass, you use revenue. In this example, ONLY federal tax revenue. Then you color the debt red. Red like blood. Blood flowing out of this suffering nation.

Usually a broken tooth wil get jammed and make it not turn at all. Was there any damage to the frame or where the rack mounts? Loose rack perhaps?

 

I'd imagine the bushings are pretty shot. It's a 10yr old truck. I haven't taken a look at the mounts. No frame damage, at least that I can tell. Truck still holds an alignment. And drives down the road straight.

 

Im envisioning the entire rack assembly shifting... only thing I can think of that would do that.

 

Pretty sure @northwesttaco had that issue

 

My bushings were shot and the rack had some movement in it. But I never experienced the steering wheel being off randomly

 

Bob and I both have some loud clunks or tinks when we are turning at slow speeds. Wonder if that could be the steering rack, cab mounts, uniballs.... truck hasn't fallen apart yet

 

Day 2 of using my truck as a truck. I think it's starting to remember how to be a truck.

 

I did notice one of the bottom shock uniballs/heims(?) Where the bolt passes through on the LCA on my driver's side is shot when I swapped to the 700# coils.
