    Hey everyone.

Purchased my new 2016 inferno TRD Sport yesterday and am loving it so far. One thing it didn't come with was running boards. I see a lot of options out there and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? Looking at quality, durability, and aesthetics.

So far they're great, I guess I've had them on for just over a month now. I liked the slight curve at the front and back and I prefer the stainless to black powder coat. When I first unboxed them I was worried they were too wide, off the truck they looked like pontoons, but after I got them bolted on I think they're just right. I put them on for aesthetics and for the wife getting in/out, could be about an inch lower for her.

They were easy to install, did it by myself in about 45 minutes with hand tools. The instructions that shipped with them listed only up through 2012 tacoma on the cover but all the mount points are the same.

I'm looking at the Steelcraft step bars.... what do the measurements of 3", 4" and 5" mean? I'm not sure which one's to go with.

I believe that is the circumference/width of the tubes. I think the 3" are round but the 4" and 5" are Oval.

Ahh.... thanks. I see you got the 5". Is choosing a size a matter of taste, or is there more to it?

I think it's largely a matter of taste. The wider the step the more surface area there is for your foot, but I'm not really sure it makes a significant difference. I don't think that it makes a difference as far a strength since that's really more on the brackets than the tube.

I am not an aesthetics guy. Function over form. That said I bought a 6" oval Car doors cannot touch the truck

That is a great idea. I would much rather have some idiots car door hit the running board than the truck. Which brand did you go with?

Make sure they're not jammed up against the rocket panel. they're useless like that.
