It's basically the same, uses all the same terminals and is wired more or less the same way. It's actually a little simpler because there are dual busses and you can use one for ground.

Anyone have pics of the 10 relay RFRM mounting plate mounted in a 2nd gen Tacoma?

I bought one and the cutout fits the RFRM perfectly, but the mounting options are limited with just a 90 degree bend down one side.

I have Redline Hood struts and I don't think this bracket is going to fit in the space behind the main fuse box because the bend is too close to the cutout, or in other words the RFRM will be too close to the fender.

I think a mounting option that is 90 degrees to the fender would be much better for the RFRM, could you make one @Yotamac ?

Something more like this would be sweet:

I admit I haven't read all 30 pages, but can someone please tell me the gauge of the aluminum sheet used to make the brackets?

Also, is there any ETA on when the large and/or ATRAC plates will come back in stock?

    Cheers!

Hi , I will send an email with details.

We make both RFRM and RTMR's. Please send me an email at tacomapros@gmail.com with your requirements and we can discuss options.

We can make one buss power and one buss ground for the RFRM's too.

The mounting plates for the RTMR's and RFRM's are universal and made to fit in any vehicle. The Tacoma's have a tight fitment. We may be able to make an attachment plate (L shaped) and bolt the RFRM plate to L shaped bracket.

We run the mounting plates in batches with a laser cutter. We may have another batch cut soon and can add a plate to the list for you.
Please send me an email at tacomapros@gmail.com and I can add you to the list.
    Plates are 1/8" thick.

It looks like it takes a different box. I don't think it can be built from the 15303.

Definitely a different box. Same concept just twice the size...

I get that you are trying to make these universal, I just think a Tacoma specific mounting plate would be a lot better. This universal one for the RFRM is pretty hard to work with in a 2nd gen Tacoma, especially with hood struts.

I think an attachment plate that this plate could bolt up to would be great, especially if it could hold the RFRM box parallel with the oem fuse box, at 90 degrees to the fender like the pic I posted above.

It's not built from a 15303, it's a 15401 - different model number and larger box. It's wired and assembled more or less the same way as a 1503, it uses the same Metri-Pack 280 terminals and pretty much the same wiring concepts.

Please email at tacomapros@gmail.com with your exact plate dimensions.
They Bussmann RTMR plates are universal and fit any vehicle. The Blue Sea plates are only for 2nd and 3rd Gens.

In case anyone in this thread is looking to build the fuse block themselves, please see my post in the DIY thread located here.

Unrelated - @Yotamac Should I email tacomapros@gmail.com for a custom length battery cable set?

Id hit up @BamaToy1997 for your cables! Good dude, good prices, good products and great craftsmanship! Or, heck while you're at it already id totally recommend getting his "big 3 upgrade"
I bet youd pay just as much getting cables made elsewhere as you would getting his whole kit sent to your door and end up with more goodies buying from him...

Thanks! I have to order the assembled hubs from him at some point by the end of this year, so maybe I will just save up some and make a giant order out of it!

Hmm, at this point I am wondering if I just should have gone Bussmann. It is already set for 5 relays, and the plates are here, and no issues...

I think everyone knows about the DYI Bussmann thread and where to find it... This one is for people that want to purchase our kits.

Send me an email for whatever parts you need.

We sell quality electrical components. Being this is a thread for our products please pm members if you are referring them to other vendors for products we sell.

The Bussmann is compact and a much cleaner product. We sell complete kits.

I should have clarified that I was directing that post to those that may only be in this thread to buy the mounting plate and then complete the build themselves. I didn't mean to step on your toes or redirect business.

I wasnt trying to step on your toes or take away business, was just trying to help.

P.S. one of these days i still need to get a small rtmr mounting plate from ya since our good buddy sky ducsh decided i didnt need it and he needed the monies instead...

Here's my temporary solution until I can get a better single piece mount for my RFRM.

Made a bracket and attached it to @Yotamac's RFRM plate. This is not the most elegant solution but it works for now.

If someone wants to offer a more functional RFRM mount for second gen Tacomas I suggest this mounting orientation. As you can see it works with hood struts. Clearance to the hood is fine. This also gives more room to work with wiring on the fender side and is generally a more efficient use of space.
