@Dicksfriend1983 you can probably talk to @sean266 to get it changed for you, I don't know if you can do it yourself...

so, as we know life has its changes...sometimes for the best! after multiple phone interviews, back/forth emails, and a in-person visit from the VP of the company, I have accepted a promotion to Regional Manager. I will oversee UT, AZ, NM, and CO...comes with a nice bump in pay, and a great amount of perks!

Yeah, I use an old 60CSx and the initial topo data I had for it was based on the 100k series and was about $100 for the entire US. Then I picked up the 24k series, which is about the same price, but only covers four states for the SW 'region'. Not that I paid full price or anything. But they're all vector data, so they don't look like the quad sheets. Newer units have the ability to load custom maps, including jpgs and such that are actual scans of the USGS quads. Mine can't do that. But that's also the big plus for a lot of those smartphone apps, that they can do the same thing with pdfs and jpgs. Typically you have to get 'their' version of it though. The sources I mention are basically just the raw data from the USGS that all those companies then modify to optimize for mobile.

I've also had the National Geographic Topo! for CO for years and years, which is scans of all the quad sheets and their software on like seven discs. Which is unfortunately very, very outdated, and getting map data out of it isn't really feasible. It was a product designed for the paper/printed map age. I made a few of them myself for 14ers when I had access to a plotter. Also used it to create the base for the Silverton area trails map I made. Now it just sits in a drawer. Along with one of the National Park sets. My Garmin map data does pretty much everything I need.

Yup, i have a tablet that has all the mvum maps loaded and it'll place you on the maps and you can get coordinates and add comments and pictures and way points.

Same with topo maps, can record your tracks and display where you are.

Pdf maps, backcountry navigator and my tracks is what i use on there.
