Wow! My truck looks really long!

Bob made me go 1st cuz he figgerd if the limo could get thru, then he could with a locker! Couple places were a challenge.
Btw the pics of Bob 3 wheeling don't do justice. It was about 40 degrees up with slippery rocks and mud.

Anymore up travel and you invert/put the leaf spring negative which isn't good for longevity. With the right bump stops you can still stuff/droop the tire and keep the the leaf spring from going negative.

 

Not exactly, the travel is on a different axis than yours so the stroke length per inch going diagonal is going to net a different travel than yours going vertically.... or something like that.

Yeah, mine go neg. at about 6" deflection. Good thing is they droop like crazy. Dakars soon.

 

Sweet, do you mind if I stop by sometime and try it out? I've never adjusted coilovers before but it seems pretty straight forward. Jack up front end, release set screw and crank them suckers down. I'm preset at 2" right now and only wanna go another inch.

 

Since my icons were installed by the previous owner I'm not sure, but I've heard that one turn of the ring is equal to 1/4" of lift, so in theory 4 complete turns should net you 1". :dunno: I'm sure someone can confirm or refute that.

 

I'll probably just measure my center hub to wheel well at droop while I am crankin down just to be sure. I am sure I can also read the instructions

 

Whenever I adjust mine, I take the weight off like you said, then set it back down and measure from there. Sometimes things settle with weight on them. Right now my driver side is 1/4" higher than the passenger side. And it looks level.
Or measure from the ring/collar to the top of the shock body and use that as a reference.



That's with 700# coils. I think I should go 2 more turns to be level with the ass end. I know @Greddy has his cranked pretty good.

 

Thanks for the info! I was pretty level before installing lift but I think I've got some taco lean going on now. Haven't measured yet.

 

Well the run in Duvall was a blast today. Blood was drawn.

Yeah I can come by with the wrench, don't have a jack at my place I keep that at the barn. On my Kings its 5 turns equals 1".

True.. Didn't think about that. Just when I thought someone had less than me...
