This is the next mod I want to do. I may need to enlist one of you guys to help out if at all possible because I am mechanically illiterate. I am good at ordering pizza and beer, so there is that. haha. How tough is this to do? What kind of cost would I be looking at?

    I have a few mods
I don't remember how much it cost, not much, I think it was under $50 if I remember correctly. But you have to get a new breather and a union end for the diff housing, rubber or vinyl hose long enough for where you want it to go, zip ties, and hose clamps. Not much to it, one of the easiest things to mod

So I was going to post some photos of the 80 tonight.....but my fucking camera decided to blur most of them. Looks like I'll have to take more tomorrow after work and make sure my shutter speed is higher. Not happy with how they turned out lol

Going to get LEDs for my cluster and front marker lights tomorrow. And hopefully change the oil and do my rear brakes this weekend

I would call the stealership and make sure they have the parts on hand before you drive down there to get them. I had to wait almost a week to get one of the parts. Once you get them it's a simple job. The longest part for me was trying to figure out where I wanted to put it and how I wanted it routed.

Of course it was put on the back-burner, but I'm going to go full retard and do AN fittings for the breather and run a line up under the hood. I plan to tie everything that needs breathing into it, then put a little K&N on the end.

As far as I got was researching the diff fitting, which if I remember correctly was 1/8 BSPT. Yes BSPT, British Standard Pipe Thread. Not NPT. Our trucks use a metric pipe thread, not fractional. Furthermore, BSPT has 28 tpi, VS NPT has 27 tpi. Due to the taper, people are getting them started in their diffs, then just jamming it in there. Had to order that fitting from England, a 1/8 BSPT to -4 AN fitting.

You could try ebay, search "1/8 BSPT Barb". I'd look for stainless.

Are you saying that the common parts that everyone uses are wrong?

Toyota Part numbers:90404-51026 Camary Union and 90930-03136 (Breather Union)

If it comes from Toyota, it's probably correct. When I did the research, people were using 1/8 NPT from parts stores.

Hmmm, interesting. I used the parts I referenced above and it worked flawlessly, for what it's worth

Like I said, if it comes from Toyota, you're good. In my case though, Toyota doesn't offer a -4 AN adapter, so I had to find out what threads they use so I could order the correct part.

Yeah it was like twenty bucks. Got the 3/8 by 5/8 hose from lowes for 6 bucks for 6 foot. The two part numbers listed above and two hose clamps!

Now I need help with tranny and transfer case ones and I think I'm gunna put a T in somewhere just to line it up with the diff one

So the rear diff breather mod relocates the rear breather to higher ground to keep from water getting inside the diff. You can also relocate the transmission and transfer case breathers, but it's a little more involved.
