Hey guys,I've read up on wheels and the difference between offset/backspacing, etc.. But still a little unclear? :notsure:..Now I just need help finding a pair.. My main concern is finding a 6x5.5 wheel with the correct center bore. I nearly picked up a pair of sweet rims for a great deal the other day until I found out the center hole was too small! I'm trying get a decent amount of wheel poke. I've found that most rims online have a generic picture for the style, but the wheel in the photo itself doesn't have all the measurements in the description.
I just don't want to order something only to find out it doesnt fit or have as much backspacing/offset as I'd like.
going for steelies with about this much offset

I realize there may be similar threads out there, but I was having a bit of a hard time finding the right one. So shoot me a link if you find my answer..

I could be wrong, but I think you're gonna need to run spacers to get a stance like that. Those wheels look to be 15x10 and stick way out, my guess is they have ~3.5" of BS with 1.25" spacers, not sure though. Look at @Blackdawg build thread, i think he ran 15x8 with 3.75" BS and spacers that gave him the equivalent of 2" of BS or something crazy. Just find the photos of his truck before he went LT.

As far as wheels, 4WP should have some steel wheels with 106.8mm hub bore that you need.

This is a good thread with some useful info on running steel wheels:

Edit: here ya go, 2.5" of backspacing...

no.. because those were the rims on my old tacoma. If I'd known how difficult it was to find 6x5.5 steelies with all that offset I would have kept them.. They were a $100 craigslist find. You're probably right though, I may have to consider spacers :(

Ah, didn't realize that was your truck. I thought you just found the pic, liked the look and wanted something similar.

The only thing that could be would be a 15x10 with 3.5" bs. That will be a lot of tire poke. About the same as 2.75" on a 15x8

I think that may have actually been what they were.. Its been a little while. How wide are the rims you're running?

    8"

I like 8s better. You get a bit more hieght from pulling in 12.5" tires and protection from rocks. And it doesn't make the tire as wide which for me was good since I run 35s. But I like the look of 10s.

Wish Vin would make more of his rims with 3.5" BS....:boink: @SCSPerformance

I had 4" BS rims with 1.5" spacer for a total of 2.5" BS when I had 33x12.5s

Currently have 3.75" BS rims with 1.5" spacers for 2.25" BS. But that's only on the rears now as I have long travel up front now.

Yeah.. 10" was fun but a bit excessive. I'll look into 8". I'll probably shoot for a similar setup. Thanks for the help man
