I took it off. Thought about adding a 4X in front of Prerunner. Technically, its a 4xFJ-Runner.

Nice job! Have you given any more thought about producing (taking orders) on the front diff add cable actuator?

Not so much. I briefly discussed it with a few people. If I were to do it, I would need to get my own mill... I have been looking for an excuse to get one any way, but the hardest part would be dedicating time.

I could maybe get a few milled up if you've got drawings and dimensions of everything.

I've been unplugged for a while. The conversion still running strong. Havent changed much other than continuing the FJ shifter theme by replacing the tranny shifter. Cable operated ADD still works like a champ - no leaks and engages smooth. Over time, the braces I made to secure the cables to shifter base for x-fer case dont feel as rigid to me, but I still shift in and out of 4wd and lo range without any issues. I plan on building a new base for the cable mounting and x-fer case shifters out of heavier gauge aluminum in the next couple weeks. Other than that, this prerunner conversion is still truckin. Around 12K miles on it so far, but only a hundred or so have been offroad.

Thank Kerley. I've been revising the design. Even though what I have works, it could be better. I'll work on it.

No problem. I'm still trying to get everything for my swap and am thinking of just running solely the ADD to a switch and then relying on the FJ transfer case to engage 4wd.

Another option if you have to buy the add tube anyway would just be to buy the one from the Fj case and swap that in and not worry about wiring anything up

Is there more info on doing this? I don't think I've seen it mentioned in any of the other 4wd conversion threads. I am seriously considering the conversion and looking into what parts will be needed.

Can anybody tell me that if I just do the 4wd cv axles, hubs, and front diff like you "lucky" did in this build. Can I do all that for now and my Tacoma will still be fully drivable? Does the 4x4 front diff just hook right up like the hubs and cv axles? Thank you, appricate it.

    Things and stuff and such
You can install the diff, cv's, and hubs and drive with no issues, as long as the ADD is disconnected.

Been meaning to do this for a while... I had a local trophy shop make me a shifter data plate. I drew up what I wanted in powerpoint of all things...
He turned it around in 1 day, probably took him 30 minutes. Cost me $8.

Thanks man. All my attention has been on the '77 FJ-40 project/restoration which is now mostly complete, registered and legal as of Dec 2018. It was time to do a few things to the Tacoma.
