I'm trying to understand the problem. What exactly is shaking? The bulb? What does it look like when it shakes?

It really does look like the bulb is shaking inside the projector. Have you ever had a headlight on a bmx bike or mountain bike. That's what it looks like. Someone posted a video on YouTube.

After reading through some of the pages, it seems like some have it and some dont. And it happens more so on the passenger side?

I'd think if it was the OEM housing causing the issue you'd have a shake issue with those running LEDs, silverstars or even the stock lights. I can't say I've had any noticeable bounce in my head lights whether stock or LED.

That said, I'm probably going to jump over to HIDs since I ran into the issue some have with the LEDs dimming out of nowhere.

I changed the grommets, still bounce. Not sure on tightening the projector. I'm not sure you can tighten the projectors. Someone in this thread adjusted the height of the beam and caused a shake in his when he did not have it before. I also tried that and had no luck. Maybe this is what they are telling you to do.

I used the new grommets... I reviewed them a few pages back. They greatly reduced the bounce, completely in my driver side, mostly in passenger.

I don't care what they keep saying though, it isn't the projectors...

    A. If it was caused by the projectors being loose, the grommets wouldn't have made a difference

    2. People have tried just swapping bulbs... and magically the bounce is gone

    C. My driver side projector has more play than my passenger side, but no longer bounces due to the grommets whereas the passenger side still does

It's the bulbs. They produce tons of beautiful light... but they bounce

For those that has more play on one side than the other, if you swap the bulbs, does the shake happen on the other side? If it was the bulb, the shake would correspond to whichever the side it's installed on, right?

Ok. So update on my light fiasco. I ordered a set of the volt h11 hid bulbs in 4300k from xenon depot. Removed the morimotos and installed these. Now the brightness of the lights is not anywhere near the brightness of the morimotos. However the shake is still present. It is so much less noticeable, but still there. I believe that because the morimotos are so bright that it is exaggerating the bounce. If I had not experienced it first I probably never would have noticed it in these. The volt kit is much better than the stock, better than the opt7 led and the bounce it's barely noticeable. So I believe I will keep them. I don't even want to think about reaching my hand down in there and changing another damn bulb, or oring or whatever the hell else we have been told to change or check.

The o rings gourmet they sent is slightly taller than the original and oem Toyota. Hopefully it works and reduce or solve the problem. If not then f***, just gotta deal with it or go else where

I'll let you know... I'm going to finally install mine after having the kit since Nov. It's finally nice weather up here in Alaska!

I finally installed mine yesterday and they turned on just fine. I want to recheck the installation because when I was driving around last night, I think they might be a little high. But when drove up to a wall to check the light pattern, I noticed that the light beam kinda flares upward (then immediately downward again) at extreme left and right sides. This isn't a big deal to me on the passenger side, but I don't want to blind oncoming cars if I can help it. I did get one person flash me, but I was at the top of a hill, and they were coming up from the bottom (nothing I can do there). I did notice some "bounce" but very minimal. Overall, they are very bright and illuminate the road perfectly. I can't imagine going brighter than these. (35W 5500K) It's a pretty easy system to install once I figured out where everything plugged in! Thanks to TacomaWorld forum I was able to read and figure out some of the installation process. I wish the guide had more words and an equal amount of pictures. It kinda felt like an IKEA instruction guide.

On a side note: my passenger side LED foglight isn't level, and I can't seem to get it right. If I level it, then the holes to mount it are off. I'll have another person help me see if I'm getting it in the correct position. Looks like the weather is going to turn again, so it might be a little bit before I can get to it. I'm happy with it in the meantime.

If anyone is on now or soon, where's the headlight adjustment screw? I couldn't find it last night (it was dark tho).
