Pretty straight forward install. Took longer for the bracket paint to dry than it did to get it in.

 

I have never read up on the benefits on them. That's something I'm going to do now

From what I've read it's never too late. Imagine that crap getting run back through your intake... My truck has 100k+ on it. Figured what the hell.

Patience! Just took a while & started from left to right. It got easier as you got more & more loose. Press down & pull @ same time.

 

Where did you get this, I want to switch mine for a short one. Gets hung on tree branches all the time.

Oops, its actually 14". Pretty good reception, but totally worth it. Hate that comically long factory antenna. Makes me think they are trying to over compensate for something.
