^^ Good luck with that configuration with the manual trans. I hope it works for you.

My OEM gear ratio was 4.30 and I never used the OD with the auto trans & OEM tire size of 265-70-16's.
After I went to 32's, I re-geared to 4.88' and my fuel mileage went up and I was able to utilize the OD.

When I went to the 33's, 5.29's was a bit better in which the city driving was improved and the freeway rpm's went from 2700 to 2750 @ 70 mph, all while retaining the same fuel mileage.

For me, the bottom line is the auto trans blows. In CA at the time, the 5 spd was not available for my truck configuration.

    More to follow.

I'm on 5.29s with 37's and it gets along just fine. I do have the v6 with a supercharger, but I think you'll be just fine going up to atleast 35s

I'd like 35's but not as a DD here in my neck of the woods.

Been lagging in working on my truck. Work prevails at this point.

I have managed to re-do the steering u-joints & shafts, fire wall plate, steering pump and have added 1 bracket I made to work with the OEM bracket. The lower portion of the OEM is now a pivot point, allowing the pump to roll towards the battery. The black bracket behind the pump holds it in position. This gave me a 1/4" clearance for the radiator hose and the low pressure hose to the pump from the reservoir.

As for the steering shafts & joints, here are pics prior to install:

    IMG_0168.jpg IMG_0169.jpg IMG_0170.jpg

    Steers great now.

Next project is getting rid of the Radflo CO's and PAC & Eibach springs. Going with a custom Fox setup.

More to follow on that process.

    Thanks for tuning in.

... and here they are installed. The heim has since been rolled to match the angle of the top shaft.

    These keep leaking nitrogen.
Everything is tight as a drum too.
I've had them refilled twice... can't figure it out. My truck bounces all over the road at this point.

Mirage Offroad will build me a set of Fox w/ reservoir 3 Saturday's from now. At that time, I'll change the rear shocks to Fox also.

The springs I currently have are too light as well. They will supply the new springs too.

Interesting. You're the first person I've heard of that has had any type of issue with radflo shocks.

Yeah, if there is an issue with anything, I'll end up with it, my luck.
    I don't know anybody using Radflo's CO's.

I am told that losing the nitrogen twice can be detrimental to the inside of the CO.

When compressing them, an awful crunching sound can be heard. There are speed bumps in my complex and people turn to look when I go over them. It is quite loud.

I'm getting close to ordering the front drive shaft. Maybe next week and I'm hoping Marlin has them in stock.

    We'll see.

So I spent most of yesterday completely removing the ABS system... what a bitch!

1st off, thanks to Davidpick for the link to his ABS Delete mod seen here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/abs-delete-2001-2004-tacoma.377243/ There are a couple things he did that I didn't which in my case involved SAS'd parts, like larger shock towers and a steering shaft.

The OEM lines are perfect. I did slightly modify the smaller RT & LT hard lines that attach to the steel braid brake lines and, I ended up swapping those lines from LT to RT & RT to LT. They just worked better getting around the shock towers. The LT hard line from the 'T' down to the fitting on the frame, I did install it upside down due to the spirals in the line making contact with the steering shaft. Fits like a glove.
The Wilwood proportioning valve is awesome, light & compact. As for now, I have it set 3 turns from the fully open setting.

Also, doing this mod cleaned up all of the bent & twisted lines that happened during the major portion of the project, really cleaned things up. No longer do I have hard lines attached to the fire wall and wrapping around here & there. All appears OEM with the exception of the proportioning valve.

On Saturday, I spent some rare free time and extended the front diff breather into the engine bay. It came out clean.

I figure another 3-4 weeks and I should be ready to get her out to test everything.

Thanks for tuning in... more to follow.

Not yet. I expect him to call this week. I need these before I can re-install my compressor.

How is your project coming along?

Yesterday, I installed the new Doug Thorley header and new cat. Finally, all exhaust leaks are gone.
Now CO's & rear shocks will be picked up tomorrow and installed next weekend, then, I can install the compressor.

    Pics to follow.

So the new Fox CO's are on and are awesome. All 4 corners were weighed and springs set accordingly. What a large improvement over the RadFlo's.
I did some fenderwell trim clean-up while I was in there. I will add sheet metal in the passenger side to eliminate the large overcut section. Once that's done, I'll Flex Seal the area to match the OEM seam sealer.

Over the weekend, I did install a new Doug Thorley header and a new cat. Also, wired up the front locker solenoid and tucked all wiring back into an OEM looking loom and installed new headlights.

I am awaiting 1 - 90 degree fitting that will go on top of the passenger side reservoir. Routing this hose below the shock tower will allow my compressor to sit in there nicely.

Driver side is 200/250 and passenger is 175/250. Both CO pressures are @ 200. This leaves me with 5.5" of up travel and 6.5" down.
The bleed hole on both was enlarged to an unspecified size.

The front DS weight is 1,226 and front PS is 1213. Rear DS weight is 956 and PS is 840. Weight is now 58% front and 42% rear.

Rides & drives like a dream now.

Once I get the rear shocks installed, I will take measurements for the new leafs. The taco lean is very evident at this point, plus the rear is down 2".

May visit National Spring in San Diego and have them build a set... that takes time during the week which I do not have.

Seems like every little accomplishment opens another can of worms.

... I forgot to add that frame height is set @ 20.5".

Rear shocks were back-ordered so I hope to receive them this week. The rear is lower by 2". It appears new leafs are in order.

    More to follow.
