CV angles ok? What was pre-lift measure in front? Having a 4 banger is probably not helping

I'm thinking this may be my next size of tire. I don't dislike the 255/85/16s I have now, they 235s just happen to cost less and they wouldn't rub at all.... so there's that.

    ...which is nice!:drevil:

Here is the thinking on the 4-banger 887 experiment: Many people with 4-banger access cabs have had 885s give them 3 inches. After adding skids and sliders, they loose 1/2 inch and have to use spacers. 887s are 5mm longer than the 885s and have the same spring rate. So, having skids and sliders, I should be around 3 inches. My initial measurement was around 19.25 to 19.5 inches because of the weight of the armor. I am now at 24 inches. Keep in mind I haven't driven it yet, and people have reported OME springs settling an inch or more on the initial drive. So, my logic is correct, but we will see if it translates to real world success...lol

If it doesn't come down, then I will decide on going down to 885s or adding a bumper.

You're question has made me realize I really do not know what a proper CV angle is for a Tacoma or how to measure it. Time to do some research...

Check out your boots. If the fins are touching, you are going to put excess wear and tear on the boots.

It seems that people are saying as long as the fins of the CV boot are not touching, your angle is good to go. Have to check when I get back into town.

Looks like they are touching to me! Maybe it will settle after the first drive, which will be on Tuesday.

Diff Breather OME full lift kit with 886 coils and dakars sway bar removed 31.5" LED light bar from CaliRaisedLED
image.jpg Got my OME lift installed about a week ago. I love it! I'm running 886's up front with the sway bar removed and dakars in the rear. I got 3" up front and 3.5-4" in the rear with no weight. Love how it drives on and off road.

Edit: Forgot to subtract my rear suspension numbers due to how worn out the suspension was compared to the average numbers everyone else gets. Rear was a 3" lift also.

you think it'll come down after I Drive it or do you think I'll have to go down to 885s?

Can we add the OME BP-51 option to this thread? It seems like there's more info here and people watching this thread, and the full kit comes with dakars

Why not do the boot slide mod?

2016 tacoma trd sport dual cab.

Plan on putting on ome kit with 887 spring and 90021 shocks. Also has leaf pack for the rear.

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com...spension-lift-kit-for-2016-Tacoma_p_1595.html

Hoping to raise the front about 2 inches and the back 1.5 inches.

All stock weights. No additional weight on the vehicle.

Thoughts if I will need to or should replace uca?

Will this ride somewhat close to stock?

    Any other recommendations?

    Thanks!

Well, finally got the time to take it for a drive. It dropped to 23 1/4 driver and 23 3/8 (give or take) on the passenger.

Outer CV boot looks much better, inner still meh:

I am thinking if I drive it some more it will sink right to 23. Yes?

You should get some more. I could see 3/8 being possible.

Is ECGreen the first to successfully use the 887s on a 4 banger? Perhaps, perhaps...
