    Hey guys

So I'm looking to buy a lift, I bought spacers not reading enough and learning about my truck :humble:

Lol so I'm really looking for the best kit to make my truck have a lifted level height I got a 2001 Tacoma extra cab pre runner 2.7L, i almost bought a 3" bilstein lift and then read I shouldn't buy it because my trucks to light and it will raise it over 3" and give a really stiff ride...

I'm not made of money what are your ideas? All are welcome !!
    :help:

(My truck dosent sit even like the picture shows I had tires in the back)

The bilstiens are adjustable with your stock springs. They have three settings 0"...1.25"....or 2.5". Those should work great for what your wanting to achieve imo. The ride will not be to stiff imo, better than stock.

I'm not sure right now I just spent $900 on tires and 800$ for a system and touch screen dash... Id imagine I shouldn't short myself on a lift that my truck RIDES ON, so really id like to keep it under 800 but I don't want to even spend that much just throw me ideas I'm running out of money quick.. So I need to buy a nice lift and be done with my truck lol although I can't get a locker for my rear end outa my head haha

Yeah the bilstein lift can be used with different springs of your choice. So you can get around the stiffness issue and not end up going over 3 inches. What you read was prolly referring to using Eibach springs. They can be really stiff especially at first and have been known to gain over 3" on a lighter rig. Unless you get some high dollar coilovers you're gunna end up being stiffer than what you are right now, its just kinda the nature of the game. Even most of the coilovers will be stiffer than stock too. Keep in mind if youre stock now your springs will be really saggy and soft so it'll be the softest your rig will ever be.

Did you install those spacers you got? If so the adjustable billies set on a upper adjustment will prolly be less stiff than that...with stock coils.

Stock coils at 2.5 riding better than stock? I did that for a while and it wasnt very good even with a v6 4x4.

So I guess it's just that I got a 4cyl, they say my trucks to light to use the 3" lift kit I was looking at the kit with toyotech springs I wanted to change my whole shock set up, my problem and reason for a lift is I jump this truck when I hit pot holes and bumps I can't think of anything but bad springs and shocks ? I've always had ifs with tortion bars never had anything like this I've drove old ass trucks my whole life,

Not crazy stiff but it just didn't take bumps and potholes very good. Replaced them with the eibachs and it was an improvement.

You and I have nearly have the same truck and I am actually in the process of lifting mine as well. Check out this thread here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tacoma-spring-refurbishing.194386/. There is a cheap and reliable alternative to get you some lift from your rear springs. Also, the Bilstein 5100s and the Toytec coils are in my opinion the most economical parts. @HeadStrong Off-Road had the best deal that I could find for the Bilsteins and their customer service is awesome. I bought my coils from Toytec off of Amazon. They offer a discount code (5%) if you order through them online but their price on Amazon is actually about the same if not cheaper. I'm using all three options on my lift and so far I am quite pleased.

A 2.0 coilover from fox or saw would be a decent choice too. If you cheap out youl more than likely regret it. I know i did.

So you didn't achieve to stiff of a lift from the toyo tech and the 5100 combo? There's a note under the product that says it's not recommended for use with signal cabs or 4cyl trucks cause there lighter, I was planning on pulling the trigger on the toyo tech an 5100 combo from bilsteinlift.com and after reading that there Gona be to stiff and not recommended I started this thread hoping someone could steer me into the right direction, your saying they work fine huh?

I'm assuming that they will be fine. I haven't got the coils and front shocks installed yet (next weekend), but I have a steel plate bumper plus a winch that will be getting added as well, so there will be more weight upfront. I'm also assuming that they will be slightly stiff at first but will break-in nicely.

I'm going to have to give them a call, they have a pare of coils (but there 1100$) That have 550lb and 500lb springs it'd make since that it'd work with the 4 banger but I got another question here should I get myself uca's and well if I'm going to lift my truck at all ?
