Ok. I will check to see if tightening u bolts has any effect on my take-off vibes. I sit higher in the rear by about an inch after the AAL install so I was going to add a small amount of lift to the front to level it out. If I remove the overload, won't I lose some lift in the rear? I was thinking of doing that to level it off if that's all I was going to do but my next tires are going to be 285's so I wanted to keep the current lift I have out back and another inch or so up front to be level. Am I missing something?

Nice, what were you running before the Duratracs?

I have the icon aal on myself, with the overload removed.....with 285's. It has an ever so slight rake. When I go to add the spring seat spacer to the front it should the sit level. I like the rake, so when I go to do it I'll re-add the overload in

Copy that!! I didn't know that there would still be a slight rake with the overload left out. Now I get it. It is also good to know that you fit 285's as they will likely be my next tire after the new ones I just got wear out. I will also add the spring seat spacer when I go plus one from my current size tire. Appreciate the clarification!!

I was running the stocker 265/70/16's BFG TA KO (not the KO2's) that came on my Baja when I bought it. They were load range D and the new Duratracs are load range C. I don't pay much attention to mpg so won't be able to help there.

    Cheers!

No problem....that's why we are here. To learn from one another. When the time comes for your 285's, I know for sure they will fit on your Baja wheels. However, don't quote me on this one but they may rub. Ask the guys that run those wheels with 285's. If they do, it's nothing a set of spidertrax spacers won't eliminate.

I have had a lot of BFG AT's and don't have any issue with them other than they are stiff riding. The Pro is mainly a street driven truck so only sees snow in the winter and dirt roads. She will never be a rock crawler (that's what the FJ 40 is for). My 1st gen Tundra is in dire need of tires so the BFG's from the Pro will go on it and I'll put P rated 265/75/16's on the Pro wheels. Tundra will most likely be going away next year...if so, I'll put the 17's back on it and keep the BFG's for Taco Trail Tires....unless I find a deal on some 17's in which case I'll keep those wheels for trail. Not sure about that yet, but I'll have an extra set of rims either way so plan on some trail tires. Most likely the 17's as it is easier to find 6 plys for 17's than it is for 16's in 265/75's.

Wow! Do you have a build thread on that truck? Looks amazing! Is that the stock suspension? Did the tires fit with the stock bumper before you swapped it out?

Thanks guys. The tires fit fine with the Pro suspension and removing the mudflaps. I had the swaybar on at that time also. I've since added Toytec top plate spacers, Camburg ball joint UCAs, and a Wheeler's 3 leaf AAL. I also removed the swaybar. I went out this past weekend, and nothing rubbed up front, but the rears barely rubbed at the front lower part of the flares. Not enough to even trim for, and I think it's because I took the overload out and still have stock bumpstops.

Does the Dakar leaf pack level the bed with the front on these or does it lift it higher? I'm looking to be level and I wasn't sure if these suspensions use the same leaf pack as the other Tacomas. I might just go with the AAL like Dave since his looks awesome but I thought I would explore all options first.

The Dakar pack raises the rear 2.75 so it will definitely give you a rake.....if you leave the front alone at the 1.75. You could get the Dakar and remove a leaf or 2. I added the icon progressive aal and removed the overload leaf. The front is stock baja/pro at 1.75. With what I have it has a very slight rake to it.....perfect stance.

Hey guys, figured I should introduce myself and join the Baja/Pro club. Just started becoming a somewhat active member of this forum. Went on my first group trail ride yesterday and it was a blast. I've gotten a lot of information about our more unique trucks from this thread and I really appreciate that from everyone.

My current additions, suspension wise, are the toytec spacer, dakar leafs with extended breaklines and a ubolt flip kit. I have 285/75/16s KO2s and did not encounter any rubbing on my off road trip with having the front mud flaps removed.

One thing I noticed that I may have slipped up on in my research is I did not get aftermarket UCAs. I had my alignment done at a toyota dealership, after the spacer/leafs were added, and they didn't express any concerns. Also when driving, I don't notice any problems. My question is, with my current setup do you think I should look into getting aftermarket UCAs? Thanks!

Also, here is a pic of my truck after the trip yesterday.

    Not enough...
Can anyone please clarify what the factory lift on Baja is? I read anything from 1.75" to 2.5". Inclined to believe its around 2".

Can I put 285's on this thing without having to do a cab mount chop or taking off the mud flaps?

It is a 1.75 lift no cmc needed. My current set up is stock Baja set up with an icon progressive aal with the overload removed. 285/70/17

Thank you! You got any more photos? What brand/kind of a tire? Can't really see anything on this photo.

I'm on 16" TRD fake beadlock wheels so 285/70/16 for me. Any idea if 285/75/16 will work? Do I need the AAL on the back right away, or can I roll without it fora few weeks? I don't think I would have time to get wheels, alignment and AAL install before the trip.

Being that you are on a 16 and I'm on a 17, 285/70/17 would be equal to 285/75/16 to you....make sense?? So you'd be ok. You will also be ok if you don't add your AAL right away. I have Cooper STT Maxx pro tires. I don't have any close ups but I think if you do a couple searches on here or google them you'll fine plenty of pics. Here's all I have.
