Okay well after some research and calling around here is what my next ar15 build is going to be made of and the stages I want to do it in.
    1. Buy and build lower
    - Stripped Rainier Arms Forged lower $129.95 https://www.rainierarms.com/rainier-arms-forged-lower-receiver
    - PSA Freedom Moe Lower Parts kit- Black- $129.95 (Includes Moe pistol grip, butt stock, trigger guard, buffer tube and spring)
    http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-freedom-moe-lower-build-kit-black.html
    2. Buy upper
    - BCM 14.5 mid length with KMR 13" Alpha w/out charging handle and BCG $674.95
    http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-...t-Weight-p/bcm-urg-mid-14bfh-elw-kmr-a-13.htm
    - Still picking out a compensator (Flaming Pigs or Gun fighter comp 1)
    http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Noveske-Krink-KX3-Flash-Suppressor-with-Pig-p/kx3 pig.htm
    3. Acessories
    - Magpul MBUS sights in black $90
    - KAC keymod handstop $25-$40
    http://shop.knightarmco.com/ProductsList.aspx?CategoryID=-2&txtSearch=65
    - Magpul ASAP w/ sling $40
    4. Optic
    - Either take my primary arms red dot off my other build or buy some $100 one later on

Goal is to build this before the new laws all pass next year while only spending some money each month to do so. Still need to figure out the comp, BCG, and some odd ends. Trying to keep cost down as much as I can and right now I'm around $1200 and hoping to get a BCG from my cousin and buy parts slowly to spread cost out.

Any suggestions to cut down price?

    side note
on AR15.com I noticed some talk regarding how tough the BCM KMR is and the alpha compared to it. Any other free float keymods I should look into around the same price?

Buying is not the issue. It is transferring it at the FFL. What crazy gun laws does California have with regards to purchasing firearms? (wait times etc.)

So I went to the indoor range last night to shoot the AR.

I've been thinking on getting a 11.5" SBR, never fired one. Dude next to me had maybe a 7" pistol AR. The concussion from each shot was insane, you really couldn't be in the lane next to him. So it had me thinking that maybe a SBR might not be very fun to shoot and not worth the cost....?

That said, I have a LWRC upper and its very nice! However its super front heavy. I have a CTR stock on it now, would a UBR make it a little more balanced?

I have a 7" and yes, it is very loud and the concussion is killer, however I love it.
I have read that there is a significant difference between the 7" and 10"-11.5" as far as concussion, most say 11.5" with double ear pro (Plugs and muffs) is fine without suppressor usage, but most prefer 10.5" with a suppressor.

Yes, going suppressed would be sweet! That's the only thing keeping me interested in it.

    is a 11.5 louder than a 10.5?

10.5 is louder I believe (No personal experience), but if you go suppressed you won't notice as much noise level difference as you will the 1" of length.
The Silencerco Saker 556 is 6.75" (I believe) so add that to a 10.5 and you're at a 16" barrel+long flash hider, if you add it to a 11.5" barrel you're closer to 18" barrel+ A2 flash hider.

There was a guy shooting a short-barreled Mosin Nagant last time I was at the range. THAT thing was loud. Shot 3 feet of fire every time he touched it off, too.

I picked her up yesterday from getting the comp pinned and welded. I put on the EMR rail,ALG co-witness mount and Magpul PRO BUIS. I put it on this lower. I built a lowerfor it, but think I'm going to use this one instead because the Colt is more deserving of the SSA-E trigger that's in it than the PSA premium it's under now.
