Yep, I knew that; just jerking your chain. I decided to take some pics of mine. No problem with the tape here. And it gets almost as hot here as there. I wonder if the canuk's have tape issues other than duct tape over their ... well I'll leave it at that.

I stick to pulling trailers on pavement. Not an off-roader per-se but occasionally down a dirt road. I hose off the engine compartment when I wash the truck because I like working on a clean engine/transmission/diff or anything else that breaks.

Reminds me of a large version of the rfid sensors in a lot of boxes from Wally-world.

Wow! Impressive, talk about OCD. That's "assembly line" clean! You must have spent hours on it:rolleyes:
If I have to tape something I use PVC tape, it sticks to itself without adhesive:thumbsup:

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I don't even own the truck, I'm just pointing out you're whining as though every other truck out there is perfect. Fly through any other enthusiast forum and find the complaint threads all over.

My "not Toyota" vehicle also has electrical tape, used to close the ends of some of the wire looms. Over time the tape tends to weaken and unravel so I just wrap it up fresh with new tape. I like an organized engine bay so I just take care of it myself.

If you want to take it to the dealer to fix, leave it possibly overnight then come back for it when it's ready the next day go right ahead. For me, it's something I can take care of myself in the driveway in about 5-10 minutes and I can usually do a better job. I don't need the lowest guy on the totem pole in the service dept going nuts with rolls of tape under the hood.

It also get's me under the hood more to inspect things as I get accustomed to the engine bay.

Just ignore him, the only way I see the whining is when others quote that crybaby clown, I don`t think he owns one either. Pics that he has probably came from his friend, who knows.
