Just bought a 2011 quad cab TRD Off Road. Since it has the factory installed tow hitch, does that also mean it has the "Towing Package"? Surely the answer is Yes, but I'm a noob.

Pop the hood or look through the front grill. If it has the factory tow package there will be a small "radiator" mounted in front of your actual radiator. This is an oil cooler for the transmission if you have the factory tow setup.

Yep. It is possible for the dealer to slap on just the hitch, which is not equivalent to the tow package which includes the transmission cooler, oil cooler and higher output alternator.

The hitch could also be an aftermarket hitch installed anywhere. The two don't *always* go together.

Isn't the larger alternator and trans cooler (on AT) part of the package? Seems like every TRDOR I found when shopping had the tow package.

Also, if it's a manual tranny, there won't be an oil cooler.

MOST TRD OR's have the tow package, but not all... lets put it that way.

I know my last 2 OR Tacoma's required you to select the Tow Package as a Mandatory Option, and my 2015 also had Entune Audio Plus as another Required Option.

Yep, it has one. But not so small. I've seen tranny coolers before, but this one is nearly as tall and wide and the radiator. Nice.

Tow pkg also has a 27 size battery instead of a 24.
    Only on automatic trans.

Tow package also comes with a 7 flat pin connector! Many aftermarket hitches come wired with a four pin connector

That's not it. The factory Trans cooler is the size of an envelope. I think you're seeing your AC condensor there.

Really? I'll have to take another more careful look, thanks.

Here's a pic of my connector. And the battery is a 27, though not the original battery. And I found the envelope sized tranny cooler on the lower right in front of the radiator.
