Yup I've seen your video when you posted it originally. It would appear yours and mine are one of the same. I'll be taking it into the dealer on Tuesday and hopefully they can fix it up.

I don't know what PoS glass they are using but mine looks pretty similar. Gonna have to make a call to the local safelite man...

Its a thinner acoustic glass, saves weight and noise, I'm sure costs less too. lol.

I'll have to agree on the cheap part. Thanks for the info. I'll sacrifice the 5-10 lbs for glass that doesn't chip when I spit on it.

Mine looks as if bugs pit it. 2542 miles after 8 months and mine is pitted with fine scratch marks. You can really see how bad it is when you are driving towards the sun in the am.

I've had my truck less than a week and I guarantee by November my windshield will be cracked. That's standard equipment in Montana because they use stone in the winter for traction..

I had a heavier windshield in my old Dodge 2500 put in. It lasted 2 years, lol.

Ya know, there is a way to protect your windshield - http://www.clearplex.com/ - it is
applied to the outside of the glass. Expensive, but it works!

I made them. Extremely easy. Used one piece of plywood and some fabric and some staples.

If you have a squeak, bang, clank, metalic-sound, ect coming from the front, most noticeably in slow speed parking-lot/off-road maneuvering, check only the very front two body mounts by the radiator.

    Catch-up
    CanyonRunner said:
My front body/core-support mounts make a tone of noise. I have tried tightening/loosening, and oiling to no avail. I have a set of new Energy Suspension Poly ones to install this weekend and am hoping this fixes the sumbitch!
    CanyonRunner said:
Just an update, I replaced the mounts the other day 100% fixed the noise coming from the front, even went offroad pushing it/testing. The OEM ones on D/P both had worn completely with a slit that was rubbing on the metal sleeve on the bolt. I am confident if you hear front end noise this is it, I only have 2300 miles and they were fucking shot. So nice to have a quite ride back!

( I will post pics on Tuesday of the worn OEM bushings, camping right now)

OEM mounts shown, you can see the wear groove on the Driver-side metal sleeve that had also cut through rubber mount making contact with frame horn.

    New poly mounts installed

I think the driver-side was worse from possibly the battery/front taco lean. The lean from D/P in the front with the new poly ones is almost non existent now, noticed OEM rubber was to soft and compressing more on driver than pass. To note: I am also running no sway-bar on kings if that makes a difference on forces at hand here?

Noise's I was experiencing are 100% gone now and am F'n happy!

    This maybe?

Toyota should have an option for the truck for a better windshield, I have the little specs all over mine and I thought it was tree sap! I think the scratch specs are from the mosquitos hitting the windshield while I'm parked at home, WTF I guess the plastic chrome bumpers weren't enough now this plexiglass windshields
