The stock bumps are hard as a rock anyways. I'm pretty happy with the wheelers super bumps I got.

So the mechanic's official diagnosis is...

a.) nothing serious...as in the water pump, head gasket and radiator are all fine.

b.) 2 factors are leading it to overheat under 4lo conditions, the e-fans kind of suck for 4lo wheeling (what I assumed), combined with the fact that the supercharger is essentially a big heater sitting on top of the block and when I'm crawling at 3 mph and 2500/3000 RPMs, it's generating boost due to the engine load and thus generating excess heat. Normally when I'm generating boost I'm flying down the freeway or down an on-ramp with much more air flowing through. Apparently the first gen TRD superchargers didn't come with intercoolers built in like the 2nd gens s/c did, so that doesn't exactly help.

He recommended I try running some of this stuff called "Purple Ice" with my coolant that's supposed to help keep the operating temp down. Also suggested that I look into going back to the stock fan clutch. Anyone ever used Purple Ice before? Only one thread on all of TW about it and it's pretty inconclusive...

I don't have any experience with this, but my truck has run hot both times that we've done MJT. In 4lo the whole time so I think I might try this also.

It is important to catch them all.
    It's called natural selection.
You old folk don't understand the repercussions of leaving these creatures in the wild. They will destroy the world as we know it if we don't catch them all.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Bro. I have a Dremel! 3000 I think it is... Has done all my plastic cudding and some wood shit for me, thing is still kicking somehow.
    I WANT RAPTOR LIGHTS. :gocrazy:
Look at customcargrills.com and see if they have anything you like?? Could be more unique and not spend $600 on a fucking piece of plastic
Could consider cutting a vent over the motor in the hood? Jeep guys swear by them... Most TOyota guys hate on it saying it's a "jeep thing" but in my opinion it's a function thing and they are retarded.

Buy these for raptor lights. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/led-wired-bolts/miniature-led-license-plate-bolt/1685/
I can help ya. Set up a mod day at your pad or maybe @SlipperyTaco will let you come over. We do all our shit at his pad cause theres lots of space.

Funny you mentioned the hood vent cause I was wondering the other day what the poison spider hood would look like on a tacoma. Might be kind of cool.

When I get my front bumper I think I'm going to do a raptor style grill and lights. What do you guys think?

I'm getting this front bumper but only the center hoop with supports.

    5th%20gen%204runner2_zpsedv240rd_ae608a16073fb48d06e21120e8ab93623526ea09.jpg

Conveniently, it leaves just enough grill to be almost the same size as the tacoma grill. I'm gonna have this grill I had in my tacoma made to fit.

    Yay or nay?

haha yeah I had a friend of mine that's a car guy tell me the same thing, many people running boosted engines will use vented hoods OR actual *gasp* functional hood skewps  haha. Might be something to look into if the issue persists. I'm going to try this Purple Ice coolant additive and see what the results are like.

The dealership even compensated my oil change since they couldn't give me a fix for the overheating issue, which is totally awesome...Bob Smith Toyota in La Crescenta rocks!

You could always run Evans coolant, it's $$$$ but it will definitely reduce temps
