Went in today complaining of shifting issues during my oil change. They performed this TSB. Pdf attached.

    Intro lists:
    -delayed park to drive engagement
    -harsh 1st to 2nd shifting
-delayed upshift when using cruise control

    Enjoy!

I have no feedback as i havent driven it extensively and they reset my learned shift points.

Just scheduled to drop my truck off Monday. If the upshift when using cruise is really fixed I will be one happy owner.

Thanks for the info, will be scheduling an appointment shortly. This has been the only issue with my truck so far. Hoping this really fixes the delay in shifting.

Interesting note: This Fix falls under Toyota Federal Emission Warranty.
Meaning that Toyota really had to push this fix through federal
regulations (EPA) and out to service. One of the reasons why I
am starting to believe that it took so long to release.

I'm glad they did. It not only shows that Toyota really listens to the
consumer but actually does something about it.

Is it arriving a little late, many will argue yes. But hey, I'll pardon
Toyota is this truly fixes all the issues that we've been having.

    Not so fast...
I just called my local dealer and she told me that it would correct only:
    •Delayed engagement PtoD and RtoD
    •Harsh 1st to 2nd
    •Delayed up shift in cruise

So for those of you who are experiencing transmission shifting searching for the right gear, don't get to exited.
I'm hopping that she doesn't know what she is talking about, but even bulletin says that.
When I described my issue she advised calling Toyota directly.
    I'll do that tomorrow.

Fuck man, this doesn't address the unwarranted upshifting while climbing uphill!?! That's my only tranny complaint.

Hope it works out for you guys.

I haven't read much of the auto threads but did people really question you on shift points NOT being software related?? If it shifts perfectly but just at messed up points, it's a no brainer.

If it slips or flares between shifts, then I'd say low fluid (or even overfilled) could have been contributing.
