Hey all - what dmquesnel said - coils, spacers will not change what rubs on the body. Body lifts or new arms/moving pivot location will!

Based on what's rubbing and by how much with my set up, i'm going to +1 that with OE wheels you can get these in there without rubbing.

Did you notice a change in wheel position in the arch when you installed those ICON upper arms?

Hey man have a little over 3 inches of lift with the icons cranked down to about 2 inches of thread. No rubbing at all even at full turn. Been pretty pleasantly surprised with that

IMGP6304.jpg IMGP6307.jpg IMGP6308.jpg IMGP6312.jpg Cooper ST-Maxx's on a mild 2.75" OME 884x/HS-3 leaf AAL lift. Did a quick run on a very mild trail with loose gravel, washboard and some smooth rock outcroppings. Did very well. Seems to do well at about 32 PSI on the pavement and I aired down to 28 for this trail (I didn't want to air down further because didn't have time to air back up for the highway trip back home)

Wow - nice work esp the bumper-saving winch and recovery points. Sharp! If I hadn't already paid for a bumper, i might be doing that instead. Do you have a build page? Curious about the electrical stuff you've done...

Sorry no build page. I didn't think I was going to do all this stuff to the truck, so no build page was planned. Most everything was pulled together the past 8 months.

Here is my Dual Battery post.

Anyone running this size on a 1st gen? Curious how much carnage will be involved in making them cycle freely with no rubbing.

Just ordered a set of KM2s from 4wheel parts. They are in stock currently. 869 to my door plus you get a $50 gift card. Hell of a deal if anyone needs a set.

From what i've seen, most people here are running the Cooper ST Maxx. I'm assuming that's due to them being much cheaper than BFG's and Toyo's. Any other factors that make the Coopers more appealing?

Didn't even try to compare pricing between the brands. I based it on research and good reviews from other fellow TW'ers. FWIW I paid about $1200 for 6 tires plus $150 shipping.

I have a more recent tire review here:

I've seen alot of good things about the life of them and how quiet they are. Looking at the tread, I would say that the KM2/Toyos would be more worthy offroad. It's basically a toss up with Coopers and the KM2's due to the awesome deal at 4 wheel parts.

I have a texas edition 2nd gen with the 17" rims, would the 255/80/17 st maxx tires need a cab mount chop? Lift consists of 5100/886 combo with Built Right UCA's. I am fairly set on the ST MAXX tires and would like to get all the cutting and welding done before i end up buying tires so there are no hold ups from getting out offroad

Is anyone towing with this tire size and stock diff gears? I tow a small travel trailer about 3500lb loaded to the brim. I'm still on the stock tires but considering a larger tire to fill my fenders( it's about 3" over stock). I've been hesitant to go bigger as I'm not sure the drive train will like pushing bigger meats and pulling a trailer. Somebody recommended this tire to me but I'm still not sure it makes sense? It's still larger so wouldn't the final drive ratio still be about the same as running 285s? Or is it that these tires have less rotational mass and friction due to narrower size?

Actually KM2's are cheaper overall from everywhere I've looked at. Coopers are heavier also.

I'm at a toss up between getting Km2's again or moving onto the Coopers.
