    Drop bracket lift and booger welds
    This method guarentees the boot won't slide back. More work but more piece of mind. That and the original boots were torn up so they needed to be rebuilt anyway.

    Yup that's exactly it. Cut the end of the stock boot off and let it sit in the original groove and the new boot extends past that. Use a c clip or snap ring to hold the old boot piece in place. The one thing I do now after learning the other boot slide method is to use some rtv to seal it too just in case.
