So I just got my new 2016 Tacoma OR about 2 weeks ago, everything was running great and I was really enjoying the truck until a few days ago when the rear differential light on the cluster began to blink as if it was attempting to lock. I didn't put the truck in 4wd or activate the button it just came on out of no where one day. I attempted to put the truck into 4wd to see if it would lock and I could reset it but the 4wd wasn't working either. Brought it to the dealer and apparently they are thinking the computer is malfunctioning so now I need to wait a week or 2 for the part to arrive. Really pretty bummed and disappointed about this, I was just wondering if anyone else had or has heard of similar issues and what exactly the problem could be?

Many folks are having issues with their rear differentials premature wear and have had their rear diffs replaced. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...oise-drivetrain-rear-end-video.439397/page-12

Over half are reporting the symptoms of premature rear diff wear/failure in a Poll that was created here (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/poll-rear-end-noise-howling-when-feathering-throttle.442341/) . The electrical issue is not nearly as common of a complaint however.
