I noticed a small spot of surface rust forming on the frame and noticed the a/c was draining right onto the frame and causing the issue.

Not a big deal now as the truck only has 7k miles on it but over the years this could lead to a bigger problem.

the a/c drain is on the passenger side firewall and is a very short tube pic is below. The a/c ends up draining out onto the frame and where the welds are rust is beginning to form.

To solve the issue you will need 25" of 5/8" diameter heater hose (can be purchased at most auto stores) and some hose clamps (stainless steel 1/2"-7/8" are the ones I used) and two zip ties

I found it easiest to access the a/c drain from inside the passenger side front wheel well. I removed the two clips at the top and folded the cover down for easy access. Put the clamp on the 5/8" hose and slide it over the stock drain all the way should fit nice and snug. Tighten the clamp, make sure you don't tighten it too much and restrict the water flow just enough to hold the hose in place. Now take the hose and thread it thru the 2nd hole as shown in picture. I placed one zip tie at top before hole and one at bottom to secure hose in place. Trim to your liking once it's in as you will most likely have about 1" much.

I then bought some rust prevention paint and made sure to hit all the welds that could have been effective and also the rest around the bottom of the truck just to be safe.

Hope this saves some people, it would have been the first thing I did to the truck had I known about the issue. Whole mod takes about 10 minutes tops

Credit to TW member @moe2o4 for the post buried on another thread with the measurements for the hose

Any chance we could get this in a Preventative Maintenance section? @MTgirl @sean266?

The frame is treated but the welds will still rust.

@Uptown2k and @moe2o4 - thanks for giving me something to do while I drink beer in the garage on a Wednesday afternoon.

Protip: Don't do this mod right after driving your truck. Unless you like molesting a hot exhaust pipe.
