Guys I just had my alternator replaced due to a bad whining sound and intermittent charging, and my mechanic is also telling me the tensioner pulley bearing is bad. They are saying that pulley is part of a larger assembly and that they can't get a part number and order the pulley by itself. Does that sound right? They are telling me they are going to try and measure the pulley and replace with a like part, but I'm not sure I like that idea. FWIW the original whining sound was fixed with a new alternator. Opinions welcome! Thanks

You can buy all of the pulleys at O'Reillys. The entire tensioner assembly costs more so they make that little extra off of you as opposed to the pulley itself.
