Did you have to grind anything off to get the bushings out or did you just have to burn/press them out once you removed the cam tabs and hardware and took them off the vehicle?

I ask because I ordered energy suspension bushings and their instructions claim I have to grind a flare off to remove a washer and then use a ball bearing in a press to replace the washer and reflare the ground down area to retain the washer again.

Thanks! Glad to be done with them.

I used a propane torch and bottle jack to get bushings out, as illustrated over here:

DIY LCA Bushing Removal and Replacement 2005+ Tacoma (4x4) The Easy Way!

I had a shop press the bushings in, and do the LBJ. All the pressing costs me $60

    Too few to list.
Correct, 4runner wheels have a 4.5" backspace. You should clear the UCA's with 285's.

I read that too. I really like Energy Suspension products, great stuff! But f*** their LCA bushings man, why they can't produce a complete product is crazy. Reusing metal bits from the factory bushings?!? Hell no. That's just too much work. And one of the reasons why I did extensive research to arrive at the conclusion that the Whitelines would fit in the Tacoma LCA. It's a complete product and press right in. High quality poly. Easy. Done.

F...sounds like I wasted $90 on the energy ones then. The whole reason I am replacing them is due to seized cam tabs, so the chances that I can even get the metal bits separated and have them be usable is slim to none...

Just sell them, someone will buy them. The Whitelines are pricey, but worth it for the quality and upgrade to poly.

Lose some but I'm getting the relocate kit. But none the less we all backed our vehicles up for years without them
