2825 vs 2827 LED side marker light

Can these 2825's (194's) be used in place of the OEM 2827's in our front side marker lights?

Those should work fine, but don't take my word for it. lol jk.
But as the packaging states, the 194A, 168/2825, blah blah, are all compatible, they all work. I think the vehicle MFGs just use different bulb designations. But all interchangeable. Btw, where does it say that the our side markers OEMs are 2827s? May have missed that, I haven't come across that bulb designation yet.

This "faq" is the cause of the controversy. Someone needs to update that with the cross reference

 

2014 Tacoma

 

I think with incandescent bulbs the 2825 is standard color and the 2827 is amber. Specs of the two bulbs are the same.

According to the sylvania and Philips bulb guides, our 2014 Tacos take a 2827 incandescant (which follows the formentioned convention, as well as our manuals).

There IS a difference between a 168 and 194 in intensity (wattage) in incandescant bulbs. I'm not sure which of the two is equal in spec to the 2825/2827, although the bases of all the bulbs are the same.


When it comes to LED's, there isn't a difference between any of these bulbs as far as I can tell, besides color. But...

Cool. I'm glad this works. I've been everywhere looking for a 2827 and have obviously came home empty handed. I've been gradually upgrading to all exterior LED bulbs. Not because my incondescent were but rather I just wanted to do some cheap upgrades. The only bulbs that really need replaced is this specific bulb. The Amber coating has flaked off and they are now white

 

When changing these, make sure you seat them firmly in the harness. It's a huge pain if one of the bulbs falls out inside the headlight housing. The lights may then need to be completely removed in order to fish out the 2827.
