ok, so you cheated and mounted to the edge of the frame instead of inside the frame. I like that. Except I cut my section too long to fit inside. now I have to measure again and think about it.

Cheated, or boxed a small section of the frame.

    It's all about perspective.

So I may go a different direction, if I may clutter your thread with this...
and mount mine / \ thusly as opposed to | | thisly. They will be slightly angled toward the back too, just enough to clear the e-brake cable of course.

I've never looked into hankooks until seeing your thread, I'm really considering them for my next tire, do The 295s measure a hair over 33"?

Supposedly, but tire sizes are the biggest can of worms. By simple math, they should be 33.4" tall converting metric to imperial.

If people truly consider a 285 a 33", than a 295" should be considered a 34". In reality, both of those sizes are at least an inch shorter than that, and the inconsistency between tire manufactures further adds to the confusion.

It's all silly. My 295's measure 33" on the nuts mounted and just sitting on the ground off the truck...

how are you liking them snow wise? obliviously mud tires suck, i've been running km2s the last two winters, and there somewhat decent but leave something to be desired.. ive considered getting them siped but i don't know if its really worth the trouble.

I don't run them in the winter. We get way too much snow here to try to run MTs in the winter.

If you're use to KM2s, anything will feel like an improvement. Those were by far the worst tires I've ever tried when it comes to packed snow and ice.

I still think anyone that lives in a snowy climate would benefit from having two sets of wheels and tires. You can have the best of both worlds without sacrificing safety and performance. I also think it will save you money long term due to winter tires being way cheaper than wheeling tires.

thats a great idea.. my trucks not my daily, so i usually take my car. otherwise id have a set of street tires, i just need something that will do decent if i do any sort of snow wheeling which is about half of the year here, im even considering going to an all terrain..

Wow, just read a heck of a lot to catch back up. I spent too long away from this thread! If there's any truck that makes me want to put my shell back on, it's this truck.

Also making me wish I went ahead and attended CU.....Just so dang expensive
