Hellwig traction springs

Im looking for a fairly inexpensive way to reduce the axle wrap on my 06 TRD OR. I saw the cheap traction mod and got to looking into this idea and came upon these:

Anybody have experience with these on a Gen 2? The cheap traction mod might work but I dont like the look of it hanging down and want something built for the purpose it was intended.

Thank you for the the free bump but absolutely WORTHLESS post Captain Obvious. I have searched the site for this. I've even googled it. There are a shit ton of posts for Nissan Titan owners running these but nothing for tacomas. I've seen the helper springs and anti roll bars and all the other shit on this site but I'm asking about something specific - the specific product in the first post on a Gen 2 TRD OR

I did read all five words and one letter that was your response. Helpful would have been a link to a post or a story of an experience from you or your friend even, but to put down that "search might help" is being so arrogant as to assume that I'm too stupid or lazy to search before posting and need some common sense advice. I did search and came up with nothing. Therefore, your post was a waste of time for you and an insult toward me. Thank you once again for another insult and free bump.

 

Not to choose sides here, but OP did say he saw the cheap traction mod. To me, that signals a search here on the subject. So your first response came across punky to me, IMO. Now the OP played right into it and followed your lead. Two wrongs never make a right.

So, why don't we all just chill out and show each other some mutual respectfollowing the tradition of this website.

To the OP, I have never seen anyone post about what you linked to. I have seen people talk about the wrap. Doesnt't interest me so I cannot provide any links for you. Try to hit up Crhis4x4 when you get a chance. The guy is knows pretty much everything about these trucks and could point you in the right direction. As will many of the members here if you don't go around calling people names.

So I bit the bullet and bought these from JCWhitney. Installation was easy and I got to say, what a difference! It did a great job at tightening up the sloppy rear end and eliminated 95% of the axle wrap problem I was having. It should be even better after the lift/AAL install coming soon. I highly recommend these for those of you with axle wrap and the thump on stop/take off issues.

 

If you are planning on lifting, Then an AAL should help fix the axle wrap issue. Plus then you won't have extra U-bolts along your leaf pack.

 

Glad they worked for you! They are a good product.

I used them on my old nissan titan and that thing had axle wrap bad, but also sagged like an old dog with any weight in the bed. The hellwigs helped with both issues.

 

Yeah the AAL will help alot but for right now this is an awesome fix. This is really good for people staying stock also.
