Hood Vibration Thread

I know there is a pretty robust thread on the hood vibration issue. For the life of me I can't find it through the search function. Can anybody post the link to it here. Thanks for the help and sorry for the double post.

 

Do you have vibration on yours? If so ask stealer to orders "special kit" made by Toyota and re-do your hood. That's what they did for me at least and it's holding up pretty well.

Can you provide any more info on the kit they installed on yours. Part # or a pic of your work order?

 

My local dealer told me that they had to order a special repair kit from Toyota - I believe that to be total BS since they have been waiting for it to show up for 3 or 4 months now...

A TSB on this would be the right thing for Toyota to do...

 

My "kit" showed up within a week.

I have to look for it, Ill posted here if I find it.

 

My dealer said the separation was 'normal'. Apparently Mazda had the same issue and their TSB is fantastic.

I'm following this guidance (minus their contact points of course) and doing the fix myself.

 

Ask stealer to show you hood of new trucks on the lot to compare. Service advisor told me that it was normal too, then we checked hood under brand new truck on the lot and it was fine. He went to check his computer and found that Toyota madea "special kit" to repair hood.
