I actually only have the stock spare under my truck. I have never replaced it with at 285 spare. Figure I will limp home on a small tire of needed and honestly just never got around to buying a 285 spare so never tried to fit one nor really looked to see if it would fit.

I actually would love to see pics of anyone has a 285 sitting under there :)

Yes. You would just need a hinge welded on.

Thanks guys for helping each other out.

And damn Simon, I swore you had a bigger spare

I'll be trying to fit a 285 under my truck this weekend, but I have a stock rear bumper still.

    Check The Build Thread
The 285 will fit with a stock bumper...just takes a BFH and a pry bar...mine is tucked under nicely.

@rogs6266 has his 285 on a tire gate...

I wish I did and I might try to throw one of my worn duratracs under there when I replace tires in the next 6 months or so. I just never got around to it.

this might help but it is not with one of the SOS bumpers so I am unsure if any of the hitch might be in the way or not. IDK

Questions - getting ready to pull the trigger:

will stock fogs fit the cutouts? (I have upgraded stock 55w LED fogs) .. what are the "fog insert plates" used for?

    Cheers

I've got a question @EddyRRT, regarding both front and rear bumpers... is it possible to have a set made to fit with a 1" body lift? I'm not sure if it's just a matter of moving the mounting holes down an inch or if it's more involved than that. I know some guys fill the gap with something but if I can get a clean gap-less install with all the desired clearance then I'm sold. Thanks!

Yes they will. If you look at the OP of this thread. check the 2016 tacoma front bumper. Both the black 2016 and Red one has different color plates on the wings of the bumper. Thats the fog insert plates. They're removable to be painted to set your self apart from other..

Should of done them on mine

Yes sir it can be done. I have the file for 1" body lift bumpers. I have a 1" BL. I left my front with a gap but re-made one for the rear
