Feeler/Interest gauge for 12-15 blackout interior parts

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I guess it would match my radio surround

 

I know just from beginning my blackout project, the mixed glossy/matte does look really good. I painted my dash rings Toyota Black Sand Pearl which is a damn good match to the stock radio surround.

Might do the same to my black wheel controls.

 

I'm in for the Shifter Bezel. Will be a good match for my black leather seats. Thanks for getting this going Nuno!

Also while all you peeps have the shifter Bezel apart , depending on the age and mileage of your truck you might want to replace the small bulb for the shifter readout. Here's a link with the info.

Still need to install black door armrest panel perforated vinyl things I got from @HFDane like a year ago. I actually would not mind painting/dying my door panels all black. I know some dudes on BMW forums did that, but I don't remember what they used and how durable it was.

 

That's going to look great !! Congratulations on the katzkins. Yeah if you can get a inner door panel from a u pull it yard you could experiment with different products in taped off small sections. For example use die in one section and they make rattle can paint for vinyl, and try that in another section . I'm waiting on my leather and I'm going with Roadwire.

 

Sooo... since this is a "Once you go black, you don't go back" thread, what do you guys do with your chrome Toyota emblem on the steering wheel? I am not sure how I messed mine up, but it looks like chrome is bubbling up in couple of places, so I don't want to derp over it. It will just look like shit. Removing/replacing it also does not look like an option, because it seems to be a part of the whole air bag assembly.

This is where I really miss BMW warranty. I had some discoloration on the emblem on my E92 steering wheel, and the dealer swapped the entire airbag assembly, no questions asked.

 

There's an old writeup on here somewhere for it. Basically undo the battery so you don't splode your face off, and then very meticulously use an x-acto knife to slightly lift then slice the little legs underneath the emblem. You have to work your way all the way around it then you can paint while it's off and superglue it back in place.

I don't think anyone noticed this, but I believe he has flat black gauge cluster rings and the center tunnel side piece things flat black as well. There may be a few more part numbers needed to get the full black out look.

The gauge cluster rings there isn't a part for, you have to paint them yourself from what I've read.

I can confirm that the hilux switch is matte.

Edit: ok, not completely matte, but it's matches the matte-ness of the factory black panels nicely.
