Btw they are wired independently. They are so bright I didn't want them always coming on in reverse so I wired them to a mic tuning switch on the left of the dash

Nope. They are wired independently. Here is where that is going.....right behind the shifter.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I installed under the bumper on mine too using the factory holes, but i went with 15 watt, 3 CREE LEDs. I liked the bigger 18w version but I thought that they were asteticly too large. I connected into the reverse wire in the 7 pin wiring harness, no relay needed. I did buy an OEM looking switch for the dash, I plan to install a relay for overriding them anytime, just what is needed for the occasional clown behind you, or lighting up behind you as you unload the truck at camp.

I'm about to do mine, I want them auto on in reverse and also switched. I haven't had any luck finding a diagram for both together. I'm thinking I could run the switch with relay and also tap into my trailer power. That should work, right?

I thought I saw somewhere in the thread someone with a 3 way switch. Power on, power off, and the third being tapped into the reverse lights so you can have them on manually or have them turn on when the reverse lights come on.

20160909_152147.jpg 20160909_152405.jpg Officially my first mod. Yesterday, I only got an hour and a half of sleep, worked 12 hours last night and spent all day installing my lights. I was going to do the switch so I could also run them independent, but I'm super tired and will do it soon. So, for now, they come on automatically when in reverse. It's done right. Relay, in line fuse, power wore at battery.

What's the best way to cut into the metal bumper for these flush mounts?

Aux back up lights, Bed lights, Re-located trailer plug, Good dooby, a.k.a. jumper cable mod, Heated seats, back up camera,
Hole saw and cutting oil, spray, something to cool and lubricate the hole saw.
I suggest using a center punch and a pilot drill smaller than that on hole saw to start.

Mine don't hang down much, but I did drag one of them going up this hill. My trailer plug would have been also ripped off had I not relocated it earlier this year. Currently wired into into the reverse lights, but will be replacing them with flush mounts and wired into a switch.

Use a smaller diameter hole saw and then grind away with a drum sander attachment on a drill. You can also use a jig saw or cut off tool.

OK...Dremel makes metal cutting wheels...think that would work?? or is the bumper too thick for that.

How do those mount to bumper? Do they have a built in mounting bracket?

It will but it will take a while. If you do, use the black wheels that are fiber reinforced. The dark red wheels shatter and wear out quickly.

I plowed through a bunch of fiber reinforced wheels cutting just one hole in my bumper, for my trailer plug relocate. If was to do again I would choose different method, just my take on it.
