Good info for light up hilux 4x4 switch
Even if @Up2NoGood can't have the spacer rings made, I have the spec sheet from him on the ring dimensions so I could have it made, but considering he has a guy that already knows what he's doing I'd rather him do it. Here's all you need for the 4x4 switch.

    Hilux switch-http://www.ebay.com/itm/231835141416

Terminal connectors- P/N 82998-12420. It comes with two connectors with wires so you only need one order of them.

    Then the spacer ring.

Then follow this thread step 11 to the end for wiring.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-gen-2-illuminated-4wd-switch.3681/

*The hilux switch comes factory with blue lights but you can change the light color. If you're good at soldering it's not too hard. If you're not comfortable soldering but still would like to change the color let me know and I can do it for you.

I'll let up2nogood explain mounting options for the ring and switch. If you don't hear back from him let me know and I'll see what I can do. If you need help through any of this process please pm me and I'll call you as soon as possible. I've been through this whole process and can most likely talk you through anything in this upgrade to your Tacoma.

    Waiting to hear from him...
    1. Does the ring sit flush?
    2. Can I use the same terminals for my 4x4 switch I swapped into it the first time around?
    3. Can you put up some pics?
    4. If the ring is reasonably priced, and nothing has to be cut or modified, and the fitment is nice, then I'm doing this for sure. Would you mind soldering mine?

    Hey Guys,

Sorry for the late reply here. I was out camping over the weekend but see I have a few PMs and tags. I don't really make / sell the rings that everyone is talking about. I just had a batch made up for some of you guys since there was a group looking to do the mod.

I could have another group batch done but honestly of the $30 I charged a decent portion of that was shipping costs from Canada. I bet the cost would be much lower if someone in the US had a batch done and then mailed them out. So if one of you wants to give it a go I wouldn't have a problem with that all and I'd gladly supply the drawings for it.

Cool to see so many of you looking into the interior blackout, I did mine in winter and love the way it looks! The Hilux switch is a nice touch too. I went with cool white LEDs to match my other lighting.

The ring size can be adjusted to sit flush but a little reveal doesn't look bad either.

Yes for you it'll be plug and play since you've already ran the wiring.

Pictures are littered all over this thread haha

Yes I can solder different leds for you. If you are definitely doing this let me know before you order the switch so it can be shipped to me first to get the leds done.

Hey Jaimes, it's been awhile buddy. I'm pretty sure I have the drawing your speak of. I'll talk to my machinist and see what price he can do for me. Please pm me with "I'm in" if you'd like to do the hilux switch. You won't be committed to buy, but this will allow me to get a batch price for the steel spacer ring.

This is correct. The height of the ring will determine if the switch is flush, recessed or sticking out. Keep in mind the area on the surround panel that the switch fits in is not flat so the bottom half of the switch sticks out a bit further than the top half. I found the original amount of stick out (from the OEM switch) to look the best but that's all personal preference.

I wouldn't feel screwed in the slightest. The last batch I made was pretty much break even and I'd be fine doing that again, but postage is so much cheaper in the US that I bet it would save some money having them made and shipped in the states.

Sure has, hope you've been enjoying the summer! It's been a super busy one for me so I haven't been on as much lately. Yep the drawing you have is the one that the rings were made to. The more rings that are made, the better the cost will be. As I recall the rings were fairly fast for them to to make on a lathe, but there was a bit of setup time. Only needs to be setup once though whether you are making one ring or ten.

I definitely have been as you can tell by my build thread haha and I'm going to use the same guy that made my window bar for the power rear window. He only charged $60 for that one off production so it shouldn't be much.

@nazlax10 any possibility for you to write up step by step with pics how you did the hilux switch? Maybe with ttaps? It may save you from 100s of calls.
