Any one with a double cab TRD man can comment on MPG? I know what it is supposed to get. Looking for real word.

Here is a good real world site: http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/tacoma

I drive a 6MT with 32" tires (Toyo AT II) with a 3" lift and I get 14mpg. This is all short city trips. I drive pretty conservatively which means I usually shift by 2500rpm.

Mine is an Access Cab and the majority of my driving is on old rural roads with a slight mix of city and highway and I average right around 19mpg.

A little of this and a little of that.
    2011 DCSB 4WD 35K miles average mpg is 16.5.

If you bought this vehicle for gas mileage then you went to the wrong part of the Toyota lot. :D

2015 DCSB TRD o/r stock suspension and tires. I drive pretty conservatively, always shift before 2500. 70/30 City/highway I get around 19 mpg, with 100% highway I can do 24. It all depends on how I drive.

Just went on 3,300 mile road trip to Utah, Arizona and New Mexico from Texas. Stock except for a bed topper. We averaged 17-18.5 with the lowest being 16 and the best being 21. We had a moderate amount of gear, two adults (me and my wife) and an 85 pound dog. This was at all kinds of different altitude, going up and down mountains, etc.

    See my post: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/road-trip-in-the-2nd-gen.447684/

For what it's worth you can great MPG out of these trucks if you drive them below 65 and keep the shifts below 2500 RPMs. I've noticed when I exceed those numbers or do much city driving the average hovers around 17 to 18. I've only seen less than 16 a couple times, both in the winter after driving in the snow.

Of course now I'm running E rated BFG KO2 tires so we'll see if that drops noticeably. So far it hasn't really.

a lot of bad ass stuff
I use to get around 14.5 with mostly city driving, and maybe 16ish with highway. I then went added a camper shell, a bed/drawer platform, roof light bar and a snorkel. With all those mods I am dreaming of 14, and I think I drive being conscious about MPG too. The last several tanks have been in the low 13's. But hey, my truck looks bad ass!:burnrubber::D

I've got a manual transmission Access Cab with a long bed, but I was getting ~16mpg up until I put bigger tires on...then it dropped to 13. Woops. Looks and functions way better than stock though!

 Lol. I'm usually in 3rd or 4th at those speeds and 5th at 50. I don't use 6th unless I'm cruising on the highway. The truck is always sitting between 2000 and 2500 rpm.

I very rarely use 5th gear, I usually skip it and go from 4th to 6th.

Disregard my numbers. I'm in Fourth gear between 35-40mph, 5th at 50 and 6th at 60.
