What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Yessir - at Autozone i think. About to do my turndown exhaust tip when i get a chance.

 

Cool. Have to pickup a few things from that place then. On the list are spray paint to paint my gauge cluster trim for the blackout process, goop off for the debadging, and this stuff to paint my bed extender as well.

YESSIR! I took a better look at the little bit of debadgind I did last night, in my garage, and there's definitely still some glue/goop left. So hoping the goop off stuff will take care of that. Next is the V6 logo and then the Tacoma on each of the front doors!

 

I took all my badges off a while back and completely fell in love with the "clean" look.

Takes a second with some goo gone, but all that residue will come off.

 

I guess to completely clean it up would involve taking off the TRD Sport sticker from the bedsides as well... not really sure if I want to do that just yet. My rig is black, so my stickers are white, and I kinda like the way they look, so...

 

Yeah, I bet it looks good having that contrast. I'm SR5 so I didn't get a factory bedside decals.

 

Yes. Careful with Chevy wheels tho, I bought some that had a 3.5" hub instead of the 106mm (4.5") hub that we have. I had to mill the back of the wheel to make them fit

 

I'll snap some pics of everything once I do it, so give everyone an idea of how it looks!

 

I appreciate the words of advice guys. More than likely i won't do any prep myself though. I wheel, so my truck is all scratched to shit. I'm not too worried about being perfect. No matter what it'll be better than a rattle can job! Plus the local maaco has pretty good reviews.

Already did bud! Did it when I installed my mirror from Bob's Mirrors, installed Pro grille, and installed the RedLine hood struts. Did it all that same day!

 

Looked through the thread you sent the link for anyway, just for fun... I put mine on the side up top under the hood, by the battery. The place that dude put them in is pretty cool though. A bit more work than the way I did it.

I've been thinking about painting the front bumper and that black plastic center piece with the Toyota logo. The plastic is starting to look a little worn. I want something black that will be really durable to rocks and large bugs on the road that's not too shiny. I was thinking about this:

I have been debadging every truck I've owned for the last 40 years. Started with dealer stickers on cars and then everything. Makes it much easier to wax too. I took the TRD Sport sticker off the sides. Came off real easy. Hot day, pick a corner and slowly peel. Very little residue. I like the look on my MGM but contrast looks good too.

 

Brought her in for the 30k mile check-up today. Driving back to work I hit 55 mph and the steering wheel started shaking so bad I could hardly hold it. Alignment issue?
