    Hey Guys,

New member here and although I having been lurking on this forum for a while now, this is my first post.
I purchased my Tacoma back in November 2014, and I totally love this truck.
I am coming up on 30K miles and I have been seriously considering having a suspension lift installed.
This truck is my daily driver, and the only time I would be doing any type of off highway driving is when I go camping, fishing, or to the range. So the lift would be purely for aesthetics.

I’d like to run 285/70R17’s with 17x8.5 Method NV wheels. I have done quite a bit of reading\research here on the forum and I am leaning towards the Maxtrax Maxpro 4”/2” Lift w\Bilstein shocks while keeping the stock UCA’s, coils, and struts.

    http://www.maxtracsuspension.com/05-16-toyota-tacoma-2wd-4-lift-kit-w-bilstein-shocks.html

    My questions are:

Has anyone else run this same setup?

If so, what are your thoughts and is there any concerns I should be aware of?

Is this a decent lift or a cheap way to go?

Should I be ok with running the stock UCA’s, coils, and struts or wait and save enough money so that I can replace them all at the same time?

Anyways, thank you in advance for any and all replies.

This is an awesome forum with so much information!

I'd say welcome to TW, but you appear to have joined and lurked for a couple of years. With that in mind, I'll simply say it's about time you jumped in...

I'm not familiar with MaxTrac, but others may be. I'm also confused by your consideration of a 2WD lift, assuming your truck is a 4WD as listed in your profile (i.e., 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport DCSB). FWIW, however, I'm not a fan of block lifts. While relatively inexpensive they can cause a variety of problems. If you can afford it, replacing coils, leafs, and shocks is the way to go. Other options include Bilstein 5100 (adjustable height) shocks and an add-a-leaf. If you stay under 3" of lift with whatever components you choose, you shouldn't need new UCAs.

I know you've done a bit of reading/research. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you spend some time in the Suspension forum. The Tacoma Lift FAQ/Guide - READ THIS and Suspension Lift Info includes pics stickies are great places to start. You may also want to consider posting your suspension-related question(s) in that forum.

Welcome! I second Norton's confusion, in looking at a 2wd lift, while your profile lists you as 4wd. If your truck is 4wd the lift will be incompatible with your truck. As pointed out above, blocks (and spacers) should be avoided if possible.

The TRD Sport comes in a 2wd model also if I am not mistaken.

@SpruceTaco @Timbo89 can probably help you.

You're probably right, but aren't those usually identified as PreRunners?

The Maxtrac lift is a great lift & relatively inexpensive as far as lifts go. You'll be able to fit 285's with the 4" kit. I have Maxtracs paired with Bilstein 5100's for a total of 7" & love it. Maxtracs give 4" & don't change the geometry of the suspension & you can also continue to run you factory shock if you choose.
    Here's a maxtrac the thread.
