How soft are they? I'm guessing they are harder than say a nerf football, haha

    Pretty hard.

Just order a set and if you don't like them, send them back or sell them on here

If the sumosprings are too short for Dakars you can always make your own longer sumosprings by filling a clown accordion with polyurethane foam.
    Just sayin'

I got notice my order shipped today, they should be here by Thursday. With any luck, I'll have them installed this weekend. I ordered the SSR610-40 for the rear, I also ordered the CSS1094 for the front. As I have an extra 180lbs of steel bumper and winch to keep off the ground.

im running no lift, stock suspension.
thinking about getting these in the rear to help with hauling loads.

do you guys think this would give me too much rake then? as i dont plan on lifting/leveling the front.

From what I've seen most people report that on stock suspension the sumospring contacts the frame landing pad. This gives 5/8th" extra lift.

I run them on my stock DCLB with a canopy. I noticed when I installed them they contacted the frame and probably lifted back to stock. My stock height in the back was 95 cm from ground to fender. After canopy it was 93.5 cm. After I put on sumos it measured 94.6 cm so basically to pre canopy levels.

After some camping for a couple thousand kilometres with a few hundred pounds in the bed I noticed when I got home and unloaded truck the sumo springs did not make contact with frame anymore. I am thinking they have permanently deformed and compressed. Maybe they take some time to decompress. But it seems they do not even touch frame now. Just a little gap. Will check them again in a few days.

I will measure them after next fuel up so I get an accurate comparison. All previous measurements were done with a full tank.

I worked on installing my SumoSprings today. Some success and some failure. I tooks some base measurements, then I started with the rear springs. That actually went fairly well. I took my wheels off to make the U-bolts easier to get too, but that is not actually a required step. The spings come with the base screwed on, but you'll need to unscrew them and add loctite (supplied) to the bolt. You'll need a 19mm socket. When you loosen the U-bolts it won't be neccessary to completely remove them, but you do need to back them off till there is only a couple treads left to get the new sumo's mount in place. I started with a breaker bar, but found it wasn't neccessary. A standard 1/2' drive ratchet work just fine. Retighten the U-bolts and torque to 75ftlbs. Intallation of both sides took me about 1&1/2 hours. And I move a lot slower than most folks. Some of you I'm sure can get this done in less than an hour. Once everything was on the ground again I re-measured the hieght of the bumper and skid plate again. The bumper was about 1.5 inches higher and the skid plate was .75 inches higher. I'm going to drive them for a few days and then measure again to see if they settle.

Base meaurements: Top of hitch 18 5/16" and skid plate at 7 3/4".

Separte the two pieces and add loctite.

The front was another issue. The supersprings website says to use CSS-1094 for the 4WD trucks. With the suppension at full extention they wouldn't go in. I made a significant effort to get the Sumo's installed, but they just wouldn't fit. I eventually got out the caliper and measured them, I found that the space between my coils at max was .7230 inches, the center of the sumo's measures .9485 inches. I'll contact the Supersprings and find out what up. Autopolicity has two models listed the CSS-1094, and the CSS-1125. I went back to supersprings website and the 1125's are listed for the 2WD Tacoma's. All I can say at this point is something aint right!

You can try lubing the the front spring rubbers with WD-40. That's how I install them on my race car.

I did lube them with soap as their installation video suggests, and I had them pretty slick. But getting .9485" thick sumo spring to fit into the .7230" space between the coils wasn't working. I just couldn't compress them the extra 1/4" I need to get them started in between the coils. If I could have gotten them started, I think I could have gotten them on. I watched several video's on YouTube of other people installing them on other types of vehicle and none of them seemed to be having the same kinda trouble I did.

On the front end, I have a CBI steel bumper and winch. It's about 140lbs over the factory bumper weight hanging on the front of the truck. Hoping to give it a little help supporting the load!
