Rear Lift Question w/ Pictures

So someone told me that in order to do a rear lift i need to get different rear shocks because the stock ones will not do well i wanted to know if this was true because i have 1.5'' blocks sitting in my garage and i think i wanna level my truck with them but i do not wanna buy new shocks for the back i have toytec coilovers as of now heres a pic

AAL, I read blocks are a no no.

 

Have you had the tbs done, that may level out your truck a little beter if you haven't.

 

I had a 1.5" AAL and offroaded with it for about 4-5 months. I never had any issues besides a stiff ride, which is to be expected from an AAL.

 

why are blocks a no no i never understood my buddy has a f150 and is rolling on 3inch blocks and said he never had problems? anyone know the pros and cons of blocks

 

I have had the aal, 884's and stock shocks for a few months and the ride sucked balls. Just finished installing darkar spring sets, 885's and all new OME shocks. The ride is like night and day. I definitely recommend getting new shocks with a lift.

how difficult is it to install a aal ? the one thing i have been reading bout and was worried about was guys that were throwing off their back axle alignment

i plan on getting the toytec coilovers for the front of mine...without lifting the rear...what do you have yours set on to level out the truck?...just curious...i was thinking maybe 1.75" would be good so the back would still be slightly higher...in your pic it looks like your rear isn't as high as mine is...maybe the tsb would fix that...i think it raises the rear about 1"....i have reg cab so there is no tsb for it

 

A 1.5 inch block shouldn't give u any axle wrap. I've used a one inch for years with no problems. BUT I don't do any hardcore wheelin, my block is steel so I doubt it'll break, but some company's make them outta aluminum and I even saw some made from rubber or polyurethane! Just make sure you get a strong durable material if u go that route!
