Mine makes a "chirping" sound when it does that. There is a thread here and they said that if it "chirps" then its a faulty High pressure fuel pump. They have replaced several and it seems to make it go away. My chirp is so loud that It bounces off walls and I can hear with with the windows up and radio on. They try to say its normal but its not.

The normal sound of the injectors/valves is not that bad but sometimes when it "cleans" it super loud and chirps

Took my 2016 TRD OR in yesterday to leave if for them to check AT fluid and perform the enhancement. The service writer knew nothing about it but put it in the system based on the printout that I provided. My BSM system had stopped working 2 weeks ago so I needed to have the fixed as well. He thought they might have my truck for a week.
Got a call this afternoon that my truck was ready.
They performed the enhancement and did a manual check of the AT fluid. It was almost a quart low! So glad I had this checked.
They also fixed the BSM which was somehow out of alignment.

Afterwards, it felt like the truck drove better. It seemed to shift a little smoother. One thing I notice was when driving <15 mph the RPM's seemed lower and the current MPG was reading higher. Time will tell if this fix sticks.

Brought my 2016 TRD Sport in today for its 5k service at a Baton Rouge dealership. Told the service rep that I'd like to have the TSB done and mentioned my reverse to drive symptoms. She said there was nothing in the system for my truck but that she would make notes on the order. Went to pick it up and the TSB was not performed.

I asked her to look up the TSB number (didn't bring the printout) and see if it was applicable. She said she could not and that I could have just googled anything. I asked to speak to someone that could look it up. She tried to get the manager, but he was on the phone. She was able to talk to him briefly and he told her that there was indeed a TSB for my issues. 45 minutes later it was ready.

Not very happy that I had to fight for it, but happy with the fact that it seems to help out a lot.

I was just at the dealership and told my service advisor I have a 2016 Tacoma I'd like to bring in for the TSB. He knew all about it and said to bring it in no problem. I then told him I wanted the transmission fluid checked and he said they do that on every truck they perform the TSB on. I told him I want it checked manually not with the tech stream and the truck needs to cool down to check it manually. He said yes they cool it down, warm it up and cool it down again to check it. I'm dropping it off in the morning, we'll see what he says tomorrow when I pick it up.

My fluid level was 1-1/2 quarts low. My initial impression is the truck has way better throttle response. It's feels more like the ECU button is on or better. I only drove it 2 miles on a surface street so I don't know about the 4th gear hang yet. I'll test that out this weekend. After reading some of these posts I'm hesitant to use my ECT button for fear it will revert back, but for now I'm happy.

Took my truck in for 5,000 mile service they were aware of the update more than willing to take care of it. I did notice on my paperwork there was a spot mentioning auto trans concern not sure if that was them checking or addressing the truck being sold with low fluid also a section mentioning svc does anyone understand this?

Took my 2016 BCLB in for 5000 mile service (tire rotation) and told the service writer I also wanted the oil and filter changed as well as the TSB for the transmission performed. This lady has been helpful from the beginning when the truck was purchased and another service writer screwed up the service needed (purchased accessories installed). Got the truck back after service and the service writer that screwed up the first service problem is the one telling me that there is no problem with the trans and the cruise control works as it should. My response was " is that so?". She says you can speak to a manager if you like and I said "no, I'll take care of this myself". Paid for the oil change and left knowing full well that would be the last time I would be at that dealership. Get about 20 minutes from the dealership and my cell rings. It's the operations manager asking me to come back so they could perform the TSB because the tech misread the computer and didn't think my truck needed the TSB. They also wanted to know what they could do for me to help with the situation since they made a mistake. Took it back got the TSB and had them eat the oil change. The only reason this got corrected was due to the original service writer who knew I knew what I was talking about regarding the TSB and she went to the operations manager. This lady has done a great job for us and is the only reason at this point that I will continue with this dealership. The second lady needs to find a new job along with the tech. Bottom line is that TSB was performed and the truck shifts much better and cruise is the way it should be out on the interstate. Also shifts better on mountain roads when not in cruise.

I know this topic has been beat to death and were all sick of it. I've asked this question a couple times with NO response.
I'm not really having the same tranny issues as most and I've had the TSB update done anyways. But since day one my main two issues have been a major hesitation at 1500rpms exactly, when flooring it from a stop. It almost feels like a stall....
ALSO either in automatic or manual automatic it clunks downshifting from 2nd to 1st.
Tried a couple others on the lots and they're buttery smooth..

Been to Toyota a couple times with no solution. Currently they're now replacing the alternator and looking at tranny issues further.
ANYONE having same issues? My shifts feel on point otherwise.

I stomped on mine twice in the last week to get out of the way and nothing happened for like a solid second. It's very unnerving when you press on the gas and it goes nowhere. Very dangerous as far as I'm concerned.
