    The spring pack goes under the axle instead of over. Allows for more bump travel but with the sacrifice of ground clearance.
    I have a long travel spring under setup on my truck....but again thats with completely different mounts and a 62" leaf pack.

    Jason, what are your thoughts on spring unders and heavy weight? Seems like you would need a shitload of thin leaves... but I don't know.

    Also, is the "progressive" habits of the leaf determined by the resting arch of the springs? Not accounting for leaf thickness, overloads, number of leaves, etc. Just trying to get down to basic dynamics...

    Not recommended for you RV. You'll always be flattening that pack out. You are better off with links with dual rate coilovers.
    Leaf packs are progressive spring rate because each leaf gets shorter and shorter as you move down the pack. The smaller the leaf, the less impact it has on spring rate when the pack is unloaded. They only bite as the pack starts to compress.

    Since your brought it up, what kind of link system are you thinking about? I've thought about this before while looking at the FJ and 4Runner suspension, even the Land Crusiers are linked in the rear. I'd be interested in doing something like that, but haven't seen it done on our trucks (not to say it hasn't been done).

    So they just wanted to charge me another $500 to take my skids off and to get the diff drain bolt off (I pounded it flat waiting for my amazing BAMF diff skid).

    So I guess I am doing my own diff service this weekend. And the last time I visit the dealership since they are worthless to me now.

    At least you know it will get done right. After compiling that list I thought, "There's no fucking way the shop will follow these specs".

    Didn't take that long (2 - 3 hours, I'm slow), but it was before the skids were installed. Topped everything off before installing the skids.

    You're also supposed to drive around the block then top off everything after, so you may want to hand- tighten the fill plugs and not crush the crush washers until you're done.

    If I were to link a tacoma, it would be a complete backhalf. Probably not what most people want to hear. If you want to do a shorty link setup such as the FJ, T4R, etc...you started with the wrong platform.

    Also FJ, T4R, and LCs all suffer the same problem, and that is short lower links. It causes a wicked rear steer when flexing. Also you are at the mercy of whatever vendors sell coils since it's not a coilover. Specific to @Overlanerd, I was half way being facetious. IMO he needs two different rigs, an overland rig and a wheeler. His mobile tree fort with all the trimmings is just so damn heavy. When I tried helping with valving, to be honest I was a little lost. I've never valved anything that heavy or helped anyone valve with that much weight. No off the shelf spring pack is gonna do the job well. He needs a custom pack based on a fucking Superduty.
