Looks like the easy-down device that lets your glove box open smoothly and slowly.

word. Its a piece of shit. I took my box out to clean my cabin filter and cant get the dampener back in. The fittings strip/lose tightness pretty quick to the point where keeping it on is a PITA

I think the clip on the dashboard itself got bent in or broke off. Everytime I put it on and then open my Glove box, it comes flying out of the clip tabs

Great little pouches for your manual... keeps everything nice and tidy. :p

Look up towards the AC blower and you will see clip/tabs. Line up the top hole with the clip/tab and it should snap on..... and maybe STAY

Just found an odd pneumatic device in my glove box, and had no idea what it was or where it came from.

Hooray for the search function!

However, now that I've installed it and have it working well, I notice that with the plunger attached to the side of the box, only the casing hole nearest the plunger has a tab to go on. Is there supposed to be an upper tab in there somewhere?

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
there's just the tab on the glovebox itself, then the tab on the inside of the dash it connects to. I think there are 2 holes on the plunger b/c of interoperability w/ other models....if that's what you are talking about.

Any have any pictures of how the plunger attaches? I found my plunger in the glove box too, but I think mine is missing the tabs on the glove box and the dash.

Pictures with letters labeling how it goes can be found here:

Solution to the problem of the damper falling off the dash (which is probably why it's sitting in the glove box) can be seen in the first pic in this post (install a screw to keep the tabs spread):

Sure it will. I actually end up pulling off my glove box a couple times a month for one reason or another.

Yes it is the easy down for the glove box. At first I had issues with it too but between the two clips I finally drilled a couple really small holes an pushed some trim nails into the holes so they would keep the clip spread. I have'nt had any issues in a couple yrs now. I'll take a pic in a little bit to show you what I mean.

EDIT- Sorry 05Moose, missed your post.

If anyone still needs pix, let me know! The way mine is I dont have to take any screws out to remove and replace the plunger.
