    Thinking of doing this and a few other electrical mods once I gather all the parts. Is it possible to pull one of the factory cigar lighters that use 12v, and replace with a 12v circular USB plug? Existing factory wires should be usable right?

    This is possible, but will only work when the ignition is on.

    Great write-up! I did the 400w anytime and added an AC plug in one of the switch blanks.

    I know this is an old thread but does anyone know which wire feeding the inverter is the 12v hot wire? I assume it is only hot when the key is on and the inverter switch is pressed? Thanks in advance for any help

    It should be solid blue and will be a fairly large diameter wire. It's hot when fuse location IG1 #2 is hot. This is per the 2013 wiring diagram.

    Does anybody know if there is a relay providing power to the inverter when the ignition is turned on that could be bypassed like the 12v anytime mod? I would love to be able to use the inverter to charge my laptop while the ignition is off.

    Install a dash mount USB port with the 12V anytime mod. This would probably charge more efficiently i.e. Less chance of running your battery down.

    Already did the 12v anytime mod. Computer doesn't charge from usb. Am aware of the added risk of running the battery down, not to concerned about that. Want to do it anyway.

    Do you know if there is a relay for the inverter that can be bypassed similar to the 12v anytime mod?
