ARB Bull Bar and stock suspension

Sorry, I know this has been discussed before but I just had a thought. The ARB Bull Bar is about 80lbs from the reading that I have done. But what does the stock bumper weigh? I'd imagine it would be around 20lbs? So really, replacing it with the ARB bumper (without a winch) would only add ~60lbs to the front end. That shouldn't be an issue for the stock suspension right?

I'm planning on getting the truck soon and I want the ARB on there primarily for defense against deer and other wildlife on the highways. Off roading won't be as big a priority though I will be doing some. I will of course eventually upgrade the suspension components and add a bit of lift, but I figured I might as well drive it for a while as is to get a better idea of what I want to upgrade. Plus, it seems silly to throw out the brand new stock suspension when it is still perfectly useable.

Anyone here running the ARB (or the All Pro bumper) with stock suspension and no winch? Have you had any problems with the pre-load on the stock coils?

Yeah you're going to want upgrade the front suspension because it's going to make your ride a lot rougher.
And I would go with the ARB bumper as it's going to stand up to a deer attack a lot better than the All pro will.
Someone on here has pics of an ARB bumper surviving a deer hit on an FJ cruiser.

 

I don't think All Pro uses graded steel for their bumpers...not sure though. That'd explain why the deer fucked that FJ up

 

There will be dozens that will say different but here is my situation.

I have an ARB with a winch. I am running a 2.5" spacer lift on stock TRD Off Road package springs and it is just fine. I actually had Toytec coilovers and took them off. I prefer the original setup.

Note: that the Off Road Package springs are progressive springs and are firmer than the Sport package or the base package. BTW - ARBs were designed to withstand htting kangaroos.

Weights:
The stock bumper is plastic and aluminum, maybe 10 pounds.
The ARB and winch are closer to 150 pounds.

Thanks for your input. I'm going to try running it with the stock TRD Sport suspension (I'm getting a 2010 4x4 DC V6). It would be pretty sad if it can't handle ~70lbs of extra weight on the front end. I weigh <150lbs so it's not like there would be a ton of weight on the front. If it gives me problems then I'll look into a suspension upgrade. Would Bilstein 5100's all around with Eibach front coils work? I wouldn't want to lift it too much and run into other problems.

 

My next set up is Old Man Emu all the way around. ARB owns OME and they seem to make pretty good stuff. They seem to set up a 4x4 more to my tastes.
