Okay may be I am over analyzing my thinking process:

• I called a Vendor back on 8/29/16 to inquire on something and get timeline on how far this product is. I was quoted two weeks
• So I place my order, three weeks in, I contacted them on 26th to get a timeline- I still haven't heard back....

I am fairly patient until my ADD kicks in. Am I right to get upset when I call them or are my expectations too high?

 

No I think you're in the right. They never told you about a delay so I think you're 100% allowed to be upset

Someone was just talking about alignments the other day but I missed it. And y'all talk too much to sift through this thread. Whats a good shop round these parts based on personal experience?

 

Ive had it done at RSG, but its $125. goodyear, and les schwab tires are around $55-70.

On another note, i got both axels pulled and ready to be re-booted tomorrow, new clamshell bushing in, and new axel seals. Should I go ahead and do both wheel bearings while I'm in here? Drivers side is bad and will be replaced, passenger side still seems good.

Longmont Franchise Owner,Ramiro, trained with Neneago ,who started the Low Price Key Franchise, (was selling the flip key on independant website and has some still on ebay with chip ready to program. He initially was selling them on the forum and finally got the chip firmware solid). and has known him for years. I was going to buy from ebay ($59) and get everything programmed and key cut from "good" locksmith ($45-65). and then go through the directions on programming the remote function. But Ramiro did it with his mobile Scion locksmith rig and was done in 30 minutes. Its not the cheapest investment but my keys are so old they were able to be pulled out of the steering column while it was in "Accessories" and "On" locations and my original FOBS started failing on the remote lock/unlock cycle ,I felt it was worth throwing down on a new key.
Function : People were complaining these only worked close range, within 30 or so feet. But I d say I tested at least 45 feet away and lock/unlock/panic buttons all work great.

problem with that is, I only have one wheel hub. can't get another one til next week. any one have a spare that i can use and replace with one that I just bought this evening?

 

the 2nd gen raptor kinda sucks if you ask me. now people are talking about mpg. us first gen owner dont give a crap about mpg. we bought it for what it can do off a factory line. bunch of pansies yapping about it now

@BDN @Madjik_Man RE: Redline Obviously having a 'sealed' auto, I haven't had to deal with it for transmission yet, but in my early ownership days on another forum Redline and Royal were all the rage for diffs/tc as well. Royal was stupid expensive while Redline was just expensive, so I went with that. It was great at first, a marked improvement over the initial stuff (this was at 5k I think). I want to say I used it again for my second change. But towards the end of the second assumed 15k change interval, it started being... wonky. I have an actual mechanical LSD, and I used the appropriate stuff, but it felt like it wasn't doing the trick anymore and maybe I needed another tube of additive or something. Instead I switched to Amsoil Severe Gear (another forum suggestion) at the next change, around 45k. It was expensive, but given how often time-wise I needed to change it I didn't mind. Significant improvement, and it stayed consistent the whole time. In fact, when I hit my 60k a bit ago and changed the Amsoil out for the first time, it looked barely used, almost as clean as when it went in. When I'd last taken the Redline out, it appeared to be visually due. I'm actually thinking I'll just go 30k for this one the Amsoil did so well.

You beat me to it. Yep, last mechanicals were in 08s. However ( @Martyinco @3378jakesr5 ) I can't remember/keep straight the diff sizes at the moment. I know (thought) that the 'regular' and either the LSD or locker were the same size, with the other one being a different size. But I don't remember which was which. For some reason I'm thinking the regular and limited slip were the same size, and the locker was the different one, so that even post-mechanical LSD (ie 09 up) there's still two different sizes. But I could be wrong about that. I'm sure a few people on here can correct/confirm.

 

Lsd and "regular" are the same. And as far as everything else you can put the lsd into a "regular" diff. And @Squeaky Penguin the reason why i said that is because i assumed marty would be puting a locker into it at the same time so who give a rats ass what the center is if its getting swapped out. They both work and if he wants a regular one he can have mine. The lsd is shot anyways and if he put good gear oil in they have the additive so it would be just fine.
