I wonder if its worth keeping one with you for the 2017?
Was supposed to be fixed but haven't some had issues with it already?

I'm thinking same thing, keep one with me if I'm out on the trails and it shits the bed.

I have not heard of a 2017 with it yet.

sorry not a 2017, but the one I was thinking of was some member on here had it fail even though he had the newer issued one (with the hash marking)

So I wonder how long before a 2017 has it. since they still haven't fixed this issue properly

It might be worth the peace of mind to keep one in the truck.

Can you post a link to your source of a hash-marked sensor that failed?

I pulled mine and checked it today and found no hash mark so I have one on order. My plan was to install it and carry the old one as a spare. If some of the new sensors have failed, then I might hold back.

@Joe23 I did a search and couldn't find anything that indicates a CPS with the hash has failed.

There was one thread recently of someone who had one failed on a later 2016 model.
I just remember @ZachMX saying something about the op of the thread had a vin that should've been changed and the op did confirm his had different markings. I'll try and find it. Was maybe about a week ago

EDIT: Can't seem to find it, but after reading one thread I think I might have misunderstood. I just quickly skimmed through threads and looked for post with myself and Zach, found one I think it was the one where truck died and it was later connected to the LED headlights fucking with the ECU, but had the same symptoms of a CPS fail.
If Zach wants to chime in maybe he remembers. I woke up way to hung over to think lol.

you don't 'need to' buy spare parts.
But when you're heading off the paved roads it pays to have extra parts in the event you break something while out in the backcountry.

Since the CPS is a known issue and that if it fails you are pretty much fucked into limp mode. For $100 pays to keep it with you as a spare.

But if you're thinking of other stuff to keep with you, spare nuts and bolts (try to find some for important parts that can make the vehicle inoperable like bolts that could fall out of the suspension from vibration, you lose a strut or something you could be stuck on the trail.
Spare radiator tubes as they can be damaged sometimes and that will leave you stranded as well.
keep some tie wire (like the stuff rebar guys use) I've seen it used to fix broken CV Boots on the trail to get you home.

I dunno someone else can add to the list those are the things I always used to carry (minus the CPS) when I was in my jeep.
Basically just keep common small parts that could break or come off that would likely make you stranded.

Might be worthwhile to take off the right wheel but I didn't and managed OK.

No need to. That circuit is dead if the ignition is off.

Yes. Just remove the top two pins and let the rubber piece fold down.
