I agree the power band and torque curve are whack at lower RPM's. If you try to punch it at lower RPMs (and I'm talking 1.5k) in 2nd the delivery feels like a sine wave, it womp womp womps with what feels like no power and slightly bucks back and forth, it is horrible until you get to about 2.5k+ RPM. I have no idea why they are modulating the power like that in the lower RPM range. I have a manual trans and I find I absolutely have to keep all of my driving at 2k+ RPM to feel reasonable.

And I came from an older V6 Ford midsize truck so I am not comparing this truck to something ridiculous (although the Ford still had a throttle cable).

Which is why I'm exploring they possibility of being able to tune this motor for better response. I have to put aI business model together for this and then do some R&D to see what can be done then finalize the proper tune. After that comes production of the file for the masses. And set it up so I can be done at home from a laptop

Sounds good. I bet i will use the slap shift to keep in gear longer so i get that torque to kick in. I did notice my truck likes to stay in 4th gear after a hill climb....is like the damn active engine braking is on bu i want the bastard to shift into overdrive once the hill is over. Highly annoying. I told Toyota to add it to the list with the stereo and noisy sunroof. I was reading there was a fix for this, Im hopeful i dont have to beg and plead for my local dealer to find it.

I didn't read it all. I made a natural pause after the first sentence and didn't ever start back.

Your five word answers and sentences do not add anything useful to this forum!

next time instead of stringing 100 sentences into 1 paragraph, split it up to make it easier to read.

I truly can't believe all the various issues with the 3rd gen or now aptly called "Turd Gen". Looks like I'll be keeping my 2nd as I don't have time to constantly go back/forth to the dealer

Nope, I said I never got over 15 mpg not 9 or less! I believe the most I ever got on the highway was 11 mpg, I never averaged city. I don't know why that's so hard to believe the V10 was a gas hog. Woodfired buddy I think the only way we will ever see our tacomas burn 35" tires is by driving it into a bonfire!
