I built a DC 4x4 OR,SB Auto, with the tech pkg with out the cover since not offered in the one I want. The tech pkg includes towing, nav, JBL system. And I added the steps, lights in bed and charging kit. Came out to about 40 and change. Best I can tell Pro gets leather, same audio, the better shocks, springs, hood and towing pkg. and as built 41 and change? Other than not offered in the Grey and have to add the steps. Oh to clarify built on Yota website.

The PRO doesn't come with JBL or a sunroof. Biggest difference is a dealer will work with you on price for the tech with JBL. On the pro you will more than likely pay at least MSRP... fixed

Toyota must have made a mistake when they put leather in my Pro too.

Would be more than willing to pass on the moon roof so hot and sunny here in TX would have the cover closed most of the time anyway. No long bed non issue when I need a lot of space I just go pick up Dads F250 and fits better in my garage. Only have a few more payments on my 2010 Frontier 4x4 Pro X. Then hope to save for 6 months if I can keep from getting truck fever then pull the trigger. By then maybe prices will have settled down and the Pro won't be over sticker and might have some wiggle room.

Side note I wanted a Taco back in 2010 but Toyota wouldn't budge, and Nissan came down a lot.

The JBL audio is a must if you need to drown out the rattling [c]rap playing cars going down the road.

That's an added $1,000 right there. So you're really looking at 39 vs 41

Seat heaters are included in P&T on the TRDOR.

I had the same thought process when I was preparing to order my truck. Ended up choosing the OR not the Pro. What I paid $42.5k out the door for on my OR would have been $49.6k out the door in a PRO.

*and* I'd have not had the JBL, sunroof, or factory tonneau all of which I wanted.

Leather wasn't something I wanted, and I didn't much like how "shouty" the PRO is with all the TRD / Pro logos. (It's $1199 invoice as an option if I did want it; though those Clazzios look mighty good for the money)

My "40k" TRDOR got knocked down 3k whereas a PRO would have been MSRP or above...so the numbers on paper aren't the real life numbers. More like 4k+ increase just in wiggle room.

I'm kind of in the dilemma that the only thing I want that the Pro has that the OR doesn't is leather and upgraded suspension. That said, I assume I'll want to upgrade either for a bigger payload, as I want to build as an overland rig (bed loaded and rooftop tent). Every vehicle I've had for the past 20 years had leather, so I'm kind of spoiled. I'm wondering if I could add aftermarket leather and suspension for price difference.

Well, much hasn't changed, they still don't budge much off a tacoma. Especially not a Pro, depending on location some people are paying a $6k "market adjustment" on top of MSRP just for the "luxury" of owning one. Good luck...

I installed part of my Clazzio interior last night, and will install the rest over the coming days. Wait for my post-install review before pulling the trigger - there are many small, negative factors that no one seems to mention on the forums.

You're also comparing an auto in the OR vs manual transmission in the Pro. But, if you want the Pro you should get what you want...

I come up with $43,700 MSRP for a Pro automatic with no accessories. Not sure where you are seeing the $41K Came up with $39,300 for an off road auto with JBL, and no accessories. Looks more like $4000 difference. If you look at the details, you aren't really getting a lot for $4000, plus you have to special order and wait for it, and probably pay a higher markup then an Off Road. Wasn't worth the difference for me. They are pretty cool.

I would miss my sunroof on the Pro. That would be a deal breaker for me. I can UG my suspension to surpass the Pro, but wouldn't want to get out the sawzaw on the Pro to add a sunroof :). Too bad there isn't a hard-top convertible Tacoma...

I work for D&M Leasing in Texas, and can probably help get you a good deal through one of our dealers. I'm not trying to hock a lease. I can send you directly to the fleet manager at the Toyota store, but I can get you a smoking price, and you buy it and finance it at the dealership. Obviously, I can lease you one if you want, but I'm happy to pass along our discount and refer you to the dealer. Can't work in a trade in if you want to finance it. Fleet guys want it quick and simple. No holding your hand while you drive 15 different trucks either. Just message me if you want me to see what I can do, when you are ready.
