i dont know honestly i havent gotten that far into measuring everything out and seing how i could build them to where i dont lose a factory tie down point, which happens with the total chaos kit... that was one of the complaints about folks who bought them.... but i do want to add them as a buddy of mine actually had his bed rails get split and cracked after his last trip.... he is tacomasaurus rex on IG.... my concern is that the bed is supposed to flex that is part of the design from toyota, when we add bed racks or bed covers and wheel with them we are eliminating the flex or at least stiffening it in certain spots so it cracks where it can flex meets up with the stiffened point and the sheetmetal fails.... my concern is what happens when you eliminate that flex in the rear of the bed as well.... your an engineer. what are your thoughts?

well, I've seen some post that they get gaps or splitting in their bed even without the weight of a shell or rack, which leads me to believe it happens from the bed flex no matter what. my thought is that adding the stiffeners is somewhat like making the bed a structural "box" by tying the bedsides into the bottom of the bed, similar to how the front of the bed is. a tailgate provides nearly zero structural support sort of like a door on a house, the frame adds the support. I've got to believe that if the front of the bed that is structurally sound has no issues then why would the rear of the bed if it was structurally stronger as well? hope that makes sense...

that makes perfect sense to me honestly I do not have the answer to that question, i just am curious is all. i spent some time talking with one of the engineers from total chaos at expo and he was very informative and their new bent boxed lower control arms are sick! from an engineering standpoint they are awesome and elimnate so many fail points they give placement for a second bypass shock as well as retaining all factory mounting locations as well as replacing the stud ball joint with a welded in uniball. they offer the stock width so no long travel kit is necessary. couple that with a spindle gusset kit and it would be hard pressed to get me to go to a solid axle up in the front. especially in my daily driver. truly honestly if it weren't for the $1800 price tag i would already own them... that being said since i went down a wormhole i am sure that total chaos with their designers and engineers and faricators did all the homework that i am curious about. i just wish that it wouldnt replace the factory tie down..

@dcoursler do you mean you lose the factory tie down spot at the bottom where the little D ring is?

That's better. Thanks to @mojavejohn for the mounts, lightbar, and many pm's because I was afraid of cutting some plastic pieces on my truck. I've never modded anything , much less a 34k truck. also, thanks to @CaliRaisedLed for several emails and a phone call to make sure I got the wiring right.
